Felix closing in on Benfica return, Badiashile set to remain at Chelsea
Benfica are continuing their negotiations with Chelsea to sign forward Joao Felix this summer, according to A Bola.
Felix's agent Jorge Mendes is set to meet with Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali to broker a deal for the Portuguese's return to Benfica.

The 25-year-old's struggles continued after enduring a disappointing loan spell at AC Milan last season, with the Italian giants eventually opting against his permanent transfer.
The Blues want to sort out Felix's situation quickly, as he is not in manager Enzo Mareca's plans.
His former club Benfica have been keen on offering him an escape route, but had a €20 million bid turned down by the Premier League giants.
Chelsea are demanding around €40 million, while the former Atletico Madrid star needs to reduce his salary demands for a deal to materialise.
Felix is keen on a return to Benfica as he hopes to revitalise his flagging career. With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, he is looking for prominent game time to keep his chances alive in securing a place in Portugal's squad.

Meanwhile, Benoit Badiashile has put an end to speculation over his future by stating that he will continue at Stamford Bridge this season.
Badiashile was linked with a move to Marseille in the transfer window following a lacklustre 2024/25 campaign, plagued by injuries and a lack of game time.
But Badiashile has said that he has manager Enzo Maresca's backing to find his stride and play a significant role in the squad.
The newly-crowned FIFA Club World Cup champions have signed Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro in the summer window.

Former Carlisle United striker joins Swiss top-flight club

Former Carlisle United forward Luke Plange has made another overseas move. He has signed for Swiss top-flight outfit Grasshopper Club Zurich. Ex-United loan man Plange, 22, was released by Crystal Palane last month, having previously had a loan spell with Finnish side HJK Helsinki. He has now signed a three-year deal with Grasshopper, who are preparing for the 2025/26 season in the Swiss Super League. They finished second-bottom last season and avoided relegation in the play-offs. INTERVIEW | New Carlisle United signing Junior Luamba: 'I want to excite the fans, get them off their seat' Plange has already featured for the club in pre-season friendlies against Vaduz, Sion and Rapperswil. Grasshopper sporting director Alain Sutter, the former Switzerland star, said: "Plange impressed us during the pre-season, both in training and in friendly matches. "He's a reliable goalscorer with plenty of playing experience who can support us in attack." Former Carlisle United midfielder training to become a referee Plange himself told the club website he was happy to sign and "already feel at home here in Zurich." The former Derby County man had a 26-game spell with Carlisle in the first half of the 2023/24 League One season. He scored two goals in that time under Paul Simpson after joining the Cumbrians on loan from Crystal Palace. He spent a spell on loan at Motherwell last season before his time at Palace came to a permanent end. ReElement Technologies Applauds the Quad Critical Minerals Initiative and Highlights the Power Localized Refining Solutions

Collaboration and localization are essential to building a cost-competitive and diversified supply chain for national and global security ReElement has established partnerships across the Quad nations - Australia, India, and Japan - as well as in Africa, South America, and Europe to deploy its localized refining technology FISHERS, IN / / July 17, 2025 / American Resources Corporation (NASDAQ:AREC) ("American Resources" or the "Company"), along with its holding in ReElement Technologies Corporation ("ReElement"), a leading U.S. innovator in rare earth element (REE) and critical mineral refining, applauds the recent announcement of the Quad Critical Minerals Initiative. The initiative highlights the importance of deep collaboration among partner nations, including Australia, India, Japan, and the United States - of which ReElement has partners that will utilize its high value refining technology locally to compete head-to-head on cost competitive production of high purity and separated rare earth, critical mineral and defense minerals. As previously announced on June 9, 2025, ReElement received a $150 million Letter of Interest of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) specifically to support cross-border commercial collaboration. As a recognized member of the Defense Industrial Base, ReElement is uniquely positioned to work both with defense partners and industrial partners across these allied regions. Mark Jensen, CEO and Chairman of ReElement, commented, "Neither the U.S. nor China holds a monopoly on rare earth ore bodies. We identified this challenge early on and committed ourselves to developing a truly global solution. Today, ReElement has signed MOUs and agreements with partners across the Quad countries and beyond - in Africa, South America, and Europe - to bring our technology directly to the source. Localizing refining not only reduces cost and time to production, but also strengthens national and allied security by minimizing global bottlenecks. We look forward to working with our partners to deploy our platform, unlock value, and create resilient, high-quality jobs around the world." ReElement's technology is capable of production ultra-high purity (>99.5% to 99.999%) separated rare earth, critical mineral and defense minerals anywhere in the world. It can process both recycled materials and virgin ores, including legacy tailings. The technology supports recovery and purification of key elements that are crucial to our national security including SEG, SEG+ which possess Samarium - the most commonly used elements in magnets for defense applications. ReElement's technology also economically refines Sb, NdPr, Dy, Tb, Y, Tb, Ge, Ga, Gd, Li, Nb, Ta, Co, Ni, Zr and others - all vital to defense, energy, and high-tech applications. The Advantages of Localization with ReElement's Technology ReElement has developed and commercialized the only existing rare earth and critical mineral refining platform that is scalable, modular, and rapidly deployable anywhere in the world. This approach radically reduces execution timelines, capital costs, and environmental impact. Key Attributes: Modular Scalability: Systems can be right-sized for each project and expanded over time based on partner growth. Environmental Simplicity: The ReElement process is low-impact and was permitted in just one month in Noblesville, Indiana. Minimal Infrastructure: The technology is chemical - and energy-efficient, with closed-loop reuse of chemicals and water. Compact Footprint: Requires only a fraction of the space compared to traditional solvent extraction, lowering buildout costs. Speed to Market: Systems can be deployed in existing facilities and made operational in under 12 months - significantly faster than solvent extraction permitting and construction timelines. ReElement welcomes partnership opportunities with any nation or company seeking to lower costs, increase security, and build resilient supply chains for rare earths, critical minerals, and defense metals. Real Madrid icon bids emotional farewell after 17 years

Real Madrid veteran Lucas Vazquez bid farewell to his boyhood club on Thursday, in an official club act. The 34-year-old's contract has expired, and he is now a free agent for the first time. Vazquez joined the club at the age of 16 in 2007 as a youth player from Velez, and began moving up the ranks until he reached the Castilla side. He would then leave on loan to Espanyol for a year, before Los Blancos brought him back from Los Pericos. He would spend the next decade as a useful alternative for Real Madrid, initially on the right wing, and then as a right-back. The nine-time Spain international made 402 appearances for the club, scoring 38 goals and giving 73 assists. Perhaps most famously he scored a penalty against Aletico Madrid in the 2016 Champions League final, and last season scored and assisted in a 3-2 win over Barcelona. He lifted four Liga titles, five Champions Leagues, and one Copa del Rey, while picking up a further 12 Supercup trophies. Dedication to partner Macarena Rodriguez In an emotional event, where President Florentino Perez called Vazquez 'one of us', before thanking him for his years of service, Vazquez opened with a message for his wife Macarena Rodriguez. 'Without you, this wouldn't have been possible,' Lucas said to his wife, as quoted by Marca. 'You gave me peace of mind and support to keep believing in myself. We've laughed and cried together. You're the person who knows me best and also the one who has endured me the most, being my best life partner. I can never thank you for everything you've done for me.' Image via Real Madrid Message to fans and president Vazquez was in tears at the event and on his final day at the Santiago Bernabeu in May, as he cut a lower profile than Luka Modric and Carlo Ancelotti. 'This is one of the most important days of my life, and I want to start by thanking the fans. Thank you for every applause and every gesture of support. You've made me feel at home. I've had the privilege of sharing a dressing room with legends and winning titles, but above all, I've been happy. I've felt valued, respected, and loved. Thank you for allowing me to fulfill my dream,' he indicated to Perez. 'I've fulfilled my dream. I'm leaving, but Real Madrid will never be mine. I am and always will be Lucas Vazquez, a Real Madrid youth player.'
