Matheus Cunha makes debut as Man United and Leeds kick off pre-season with dull goalless draw
The Premier League sides played their first fixture ahead of the new campaign in front of a 45,345 crowd at the Strawberry Arena, where the Red Devils won the Europa League in 2017.
Summer arrivals Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon made their first appearances for Amorim's men, who edged a forgetful first half in which Chido Obi struck wide when Cunha was well placed.
Casemiro saw a cross deflected by Ethan Ampadu onto the crossbar in stoppage time, with both teams making sweeping changes at the break in Sweden.
Leeds – cheered on by minority owner Will Ferrell – were more of a threat in the second period, when Tom Heaton denied Jayden Bogle and frustrated Man Utd academy graduate Largie Ramazani.
Patrick Dorgu saw a snapshot saved by Illan Meslier, with Daniel Farke's side surviving a late melee as Kobbie Mainoo hit the crossbar before Ayden Heaven was stopped.

£12m Chelsea star agrees to transfer after just one Premier League start
A Chelsea star reportedly wants to leave the club after just one year and one Premier League start at Stamford Bridge. After spending over £210million on seven new signings, Chelsea's priority for the rest of the summer transfer window is to offload their large number of unwanted players. The list mainly includes members of last summer's 'bomb-squad' who failed to secure permanent exits like Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell. But the Blues are also not afraid to sell off players who haven't been at the club long like Noni Madueke and Djordje Petrovic. And it seems like another young star will cut short his career in west London, with reports claiming that Renato Veiga has said yes to a transfer to Atletico Madrid. Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro's Football Newsletter. The Standard say the two clubs are in talks over a deal for the Portugal international whom Chelsea value at upwards of £35m, while there is also interest from Juventus and Bayern Munich. Chelsea bought Veiga from Basel in June last year for £12m, with the highly-rated 21-year-old signing a contract until 2031. Capable of playing left-back, centre-back and defensive midfield, he made 18 appearances under Enzo Maresca, most of which in the Conference League and the domestic cups. More Trending Just one of his seven Premier League appearances game from the start, in the 1-0 away win at Bournemouth in September. Due to the lack of minutes, Veiga was loaned out to Juventus in January and instantly became a first-team regular for the Serie A giants, before ending the season as a Nations League winner with Portugal. Despite his impressive potential, Chelsea decided to part ways with the youngster, leaving him out of their Club World Cup squad. Atletico are keen on signing him after ending their pursuit of Tottenham's World Cup winning centre-back Cristian Romero. For more stories like this, check our sport page. Man Utd to take £200m hit as Ruben Amorim sends brutal message to out-of-favour stars
Ruben Amorim is overseeing a rebuild with Manchester United, spending big on new signings while preparing to take a big financial hit on some of his sidelined stars Manchester United are willing to accept cut-price offers for Ruben Amorim's outcasts – with Marcus Rashford's asking price slashed to £26million. Amorim exiled five players – Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia – from training after all declared their desire to leave. While Rashford is finalising a loan move to Barcelona for the upcoming season, the futures of the rest remain unresolved, with all four finding themselves in limbo. Rashford underwent a medical in Barcelona on Monday, ahead of a season-long loan deal, at the end of which the Spanish giants can sign him for £26m – a huge drop from his market value of £100m a few years ago. Barca will cover Rashford's wages for the loan period, with the 27-year-old - who earns £325,000-a-week at United – having accepted a 15 percent pay cut to move to the Nou Camp. United's squad fly to the US on Tuesday to begin their two-week pre-season tour and Amorim has axed all four from the travelling party, forcing them to stay behind and train. Such is United's desperation to offload those players who have been left behind, the club are willing to take a major hit on the transfer fees they could have received for them at the height of their value. Garnacho's highest market value was £70m a year ago, but his stock has fallen so low that United are willing to accept a fee of around £40m for the 20-year-old winger. It is a similar story with Sancho, signed from Borussia Dortmund for £73m in 2021, but who United are now happy to let go for £15m, just to be rid of him, although with only a year left on his contract, a loan move next season is most likely. Winger Antony joined United for £86m in 2022, but his value has also plummeted, with interested clubs now being quoted around £30m to sign him, while a fee of around £5m will be accepted for Malacia, valued at £20m a couple of years ago. In the past, United have taken on tour players who they intended to sell, most recently Sancho, who travelled to the US last summer and played, despite going on loan to Chelsea when the squad returned to the UK. Romelu Lukaku went on the 2019 tour of the Far East and Australia but did not play a minute for United, ahead of his move to Inter Milan later that summer. But the willingness of the United hierarchy to back Amorim's ruthless decision to order his exiled stars to stay behind and train, while the rest of the squad embark on a lucrative three-game tour of the States, underlines the strength of backing for the Portuguese head coach, despite last season's disastrous 15th-placed finish in the Premier League.

Revealed: The staggering amount of money Scottie Scheffler's caddie has earned since teaming up with the world No 1 golfer
Scottie Scheffler 's caddie Ted Scott enjoyed yet another huge payday after the world No 1 cruised to a dominant four-shot victory at The Open last weekend. Scott has been an integral part of Scheffler's rise to the summit of golf, having first teamed up with him in late 2021. And since, the caddie has chalked up a staggering sum in terms of on-course earnings, with Scheffler winning just shy of $84million (£62m) in PGA Tour prize money since 2021. Under PGA Tour norms, caddies receive 10 per cent of the prize money, putting Scott's share of Scheffler's winnings at approximately £6.2m over the last four years, excluding additional bonuses and any amounts won on the DP World Tour. Last week at Royal Portrush, Scott will have picked up around $310,000 (£230,000) of Scheffler's first-place prize packet of $3.1m (£2.3m), taking his season earnings alone to around £1.2m to £1.5m. The 153rd Open Championship was, in fact, Scott's sixth six-figure payday of 2025 and his 13th in just 18 months, demonstrating how dominant Scheffler has been at the top of the sport. Wrong🤔 Not everyone would want to spend time with you because you're negative and tweet mean stuff😬 So that leaves 9,999,999 people that could do my 'job'✔️👍🏽 — ted scott (@jtedscott) September 4, 2024 The 29-year-old golfer's success at Portrush was the fourth major of his career, with Scott - who previously caddied for the likes of Olin Browne, Grant Waite, Paul Azinger and Bubba Watson - having won two more. Yet another victory for Scheffler has cemented the notion that Scott is undoubtedly one of the most successful caddies in golf history, both in terms of titles and wealth. Scott's role in Scheffler's success over the last few years has been paramount, with the caddie not only offering important insight but also helping to keep the golfer's emotions in check. In 2024, after a staggeringly lucrative year with the bag, Scott hit back at online trolls who suggested that his role as a caddie was an 'easy job'. In response to a social media user who claimed that millions of people in the US could do his job, Scott replied: 'Wrong. Not everyone would want to spend time with you because you're negative and tweet mean stuff. So that leaves 9,999,999 people that could do my "job".'
