McLaren dominate first day of practice for F1 Spanish Grand Prix
Constructors' championship leaders McLaren topped both practice sessions on Friday at the Formula One Spanish Grand Prix as a clampdown on flexible front wings didn't seem to have slowed them down.
Norris topped the first session with the time of 1 minute 13.718 seconds, but team-mate and drivers' championship leader Oscar Piastri improved that mark to 1:12.760 minutes in the second practice.

He finished 0.282 ahead of the Mercedes of George Russell, and the Red Bull of four-time defending champion Max Verstappen completed the top three.
Last weekend's Monaco GP winner Norris was fourth in the second practice, followed by the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc. Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton was only 11th in the second Ferrari.
Home favourites Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin and Carlos Sainz of Williams were seventh and 14th respectively.
Following the race in Monaco, Piastri retained his lead in the standings, but only three points ahead of Norris.
McLaren have dominated the season, with Piastri winning four and Norris two of the eight races so far. Verstappen is the only non-McLaren driver to claim victory at a Grand Prix this year.

McLaren's rivals might have hoped that a new front wing technical directive that came into force in Spain would slow the British team down - as many believe that the use of wings that flex under load has contributed to their rise.
However, the early evidence of the rule tweak appears to have done little to influence McLaren's speed.
Third practice and qualifying for Sunday's showdown scheduled for Saturday.

Red Sox place Liam Hendriks on the injured list, recall Nick Burdi from Triple-A Worcester
BOSTON (AP) — Boston Red Sox relief pitcher Liam Hendriks has been placed on the 15-day injured list with inflammation in his right hip. The Red Sox announced Friday the move is retroactive to Wednesday and that right-handed pitcher Nick Burdi had been recalled from Triple-A Worcester. Hendriks has made 14 appearances this season, posting a 6.59 ERA with 12 strikeouts over 13 2/3 innings. He has 116 saves in 490 career games with six teams since 2007. Burdi, 32, has thrown 2 1/3 scoreless innings over two relief appearances for Boston. He was 4-0 with four saves and an 0.48 ERA in 15 appearances for Worcester. Hendriks took to social media May 22 to express his displeasure about death threats he says he received following a loss to the New York Mets. The 36-year-old right-hander previously battled non-Hodgkin lymphoma and, in a post on Instagram , said comments were directed at him and his family and that people said they wished he would have died from cancer. ___ AP MLB:
