Jack Draper's rise up the rankings branded ‘insane' by French Open opponent
Jack Draper's next French Open opponent Alexander Bublik says the British star's rise to the top is 'insane'.
Fifth seed Draper takes on Kazakhstan's world number 62 in the fourth round on Monday.
'Jack for me is insane. I mean, last year the guy is 40 in the world. This year he is top five in the world,' said Bublik.
'That's a crazy achievement. He doesn't seem to stop, so I mean, what do I have to do to beat him? I don't know.
'I will just go there, enjoy the time, show what I'm capable of showing, and we all know what I'm capable of doing on court and then we see how it goes.
'This is the approach I have now, and Jack is a great sportsman, great person.'
Draper, 23, has played Bublik twice on the ATP Tour, beating him at Queen's Club in 2021 and in Adelaide last year.
'I know him since I played him in the qualifiers of Queen's in 2018 or something (a three-set win for Bublik in 2019). He was a little kid,' added Bublik.
'Then when he beat me in Queen's, and he told me 'I finally got you'. I said 'let's speak when you're in the top 50', because he was like 300 in the world, and now he's top five.
'So now I have to have some courage to play, and we'll see how it goes.'
There will be a likely quarter-final meeting with world number one Jannik Sinner for the winner.
Cameron Norrie has ticked off a career milestone having reached the fourth round of every grand slam.
The 29-year-old has beaten Daniil Medvedev, Federico Gomez and Jacob Fearnley in Saturday evening's battle of Britain to set up a meeting with 24-time major champion Novak Djokovic.
Norrie, who has endured a rough couple of years which has seen his ranking drop from top 10 to 81, said: 'To make the second week for the first time is so, so good and at a time where I was not really stringing a lot of matches and a lot of wins together.
'I was able to build from the momentum that I've really struggled to get from the last year and a half, for different reasons.
'So I think it was really fun and a really good week so far, and there's still plenty of tennis to be played, which I'm excited for.
'I've just been enjoying my tennis, and I think I wanted to do that again. Another chance to play a really competitive match against one of the best players in the world at the moment.'

End-of-life care in Wales 'at breaking point', says Marie Curie
People are living their final days "isolated, in pain and struggling to make ends meet" due to gaps in end-of-life care, a leading charity has said. Marie Curie said one in five hospital beds in Wales were occupied by people in the last year of their lives and "bold, radical" action was needed for services which were at "breaking point". One family said they had to fight to ensure their 85-year-old father could die peacefully at home rather than in a hospital ward. The Welsh government said it provided more than £16m a year to ensure people had access to the best possible end-of-life care. While the charity said a hospital setting is the best possible place for many palliative care patients, many want to spend their final days at home or in the community. Gareth Miles, 85, spent 10 weeks on a ward his family felt did not meet the needs of an older man living with Parkinson's disease. His daughter Eiry Miles said: "There were very lovely staff working on the ward, they were very kind to us, but he [Mr Miles] was in the wrong place."When we realised that Dad's life was coming to an end, we wanted conversations with him, quiet conversations. We wanted to express our feelings, express our love for him."Despite a "great" social worker also recognising home was the best place for Mr Miles, the family said a lack of carers in the community meant he was unable to return. "This situation clearly shows that there are not enough carers, that the profession is not funded sufficiently," added Ms Miles. With the help of Marie Curie , Mr Miles eventually returned to his family home in Carmarthenshire, which his family described as "priceless". Ms Miles added: "When Dad came home there was a change in him straight away, a peaceful feeling."When he laid on the bed at home, he just said 'oh, dyma braf' – 'this is nice' in Welsh - because it was just quiet and peaceful, there was birdsong outside and people he knew around him."Mr Miles died four days later in his home, exactly where he wanted to be. Marie Curie said gaps in care meant "too many people are spending their final days isolated, in pain, and struggling to make ends meet". "End of life care in Wales is at breaking point," said Senior Policy Manager Natasha Davies."Services and staff are struggling to deliver the care people need, when and where they need it. There is an urgent need for change."The charity recognised while hospital was the best place for many palliative care patients, better community and out-of-hours care would allow people to be cared for in their homes."It also means having meaningful conversations with dying people about their care preferences, so their wishes are heard and respected," added Ms Davies. The Welsh government said good palliative and end-of-life care could make a "huge difference" to helping people die with dignity. It said it provided more than £16m a year to make sure people had access to the best possible end-of-life care, including setting national standards and boosting community services.

Leyton Orient release EIGHT players including former Premier League star, 40, after play-off final heartbreak
FORMER Premier League star Darren Pratley has been released by Leyton Orient aged 40. The midfielder had been a stalwart in Richie Wellens' side for the last four years, helping them reach the League One play-offs where they lost in the final to Charlton. 2 2 He turned 40 in April and the club paid tribute to his career, and his contribution to Orient's League Two title win in 2023. Pratley played in the Premier League for Bolton and he made 202 appearances for the Trotters. His best years came at Swansea where he won promotion to the Prem via the play-offs in 2011 - he also won League One with the Swans in 2008. Pratley helped Bolton win promotion from the third tier in 2017, and repeated that feat two years later with Charlton. Two more players, Theo Archibald and Jordan Graham, will continue at the club on an out of contract basis as they continue their rehabilitation on long-term ACL injuries. 'This group has been special – one of the best I have ever worked with as a player or manager – and that makes these decisions even tougher.
