Drake And PARTYNEXTDOOR Announce Summer 2025 Overseas Tour '$ome $pecial $hows 4 U'
Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR have one of the most popular projects of the year, and now they're bringing the function overseas. The duo recently announced a joint tour, $ome $pecial $hows 4 U, with stops in Europe and the United Kingdom. They let the world know they'll be hitting the road once again via Instagram in a collaborative post with the Drake Related page earlier this week. Their string of performances will kick off with the 6 God's three-night headlining set at Wireless Festival in London, England, from July 11th to July 13th. Drizzy will be joined by PND and Summer Walker the first night, 'The Mandem' on the second, and Burna Boy and Vybz Kartel on the final evening. Given his affinity for UK rappers and previous collaborations with Central Cee, Dave, Skepta, and more, it is easy to assume who will be part of 'The Mandem' joining him for the second Wireless Festival show. They'll then take a quick break before making stops in Birmingham, Manchester, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Milan, Paris, and Berlin. The tour will end in September with two shows in Hamburg, Germany. Tickets go on sale this Friday (June 6) on either or This will be Drake's second tour of 2025, following his trek through Australia back in February. The Anita Max Win tour went viral several times for him sporting a hoodie with bullet holes that had smoke coming out of them, and him making several speeches about the fact that he is 'still alive' despite all he endured in 2024 with the rap beef versus Kendrick Lamar and other rappers. The tour was unfortunately cut short due to scheduling conflicts, but the 38-year-old artist promised Australia that he wouldn't let another decade pass by before coming back to perform. PARTYNEXTDOOR joined him down under right around when they released their joint album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U on Valentine's Day. $$$4U is a 21-song effort that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the Billboard Hot 100 No. 2 hit 'Nokia.' The LP featured Pimmie, Yebba, and Chino Pacas. Listen below. Drake Capitalizes On 'NOKIA' Popularity With New Music Video
When Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR released their joint album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U just over a month ago, fans immediately gravitated to 'NOKIA.' The 6 God has now capitalized on that organic rise—releasing the track's highly anticipated music video this week. From the day of its release, listeners have been speculating about the visuals; specifically, when they would arrive and what they might look like. The 38-year-old rapper has specialized in turning his popular records into not just regular music videos but almost short films, such as 2019's 'No Guidance' with Chris Brown, 2022's 'Spin Bout U,' or 2023's 'You Broke My Heart.' So, expectations were high even before he mentioned that the 'NOKIA' video had been shot on IMAX. This time around, Drake did something a little different. The grayscale music video did focus heavily on women, but not in the party or roller rink manner that fans had predicted. Instead, there was elaborate choreography, with even Drizzy showing off a two-step. A woman walked through a miniature figurine version of Toronto, a welder sported a Chrome Hearts mask, Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander made a cameo appearance and flexed with his Converse SHAI 001 signature sneaker, all while the five-time Grammy winner seemingly set up parties via his classic Nokia cellphone. There are, notably, no skits or cheeky elements though. Watch the music video above. Drake's timing for the 'NOKIA' music video couldn't be any better. The record hit its peak position on the Billboard Hot 100 this week at No. 7, making it the second highest-charting song from $ome $exy $ongs 4 U; 'Gimme A Hug,' the highest-charting song from the album, debuted at No. 6 on the long-running chart. Meanwhile, the 21-song project has maintained a constant presence in the Billboard 200 since its release on Valentine's Day. It debuted at No. 1 with 246,000 album-equivalent units in its first week and has remained in a tight race with Kendrick Lamar's November 2024 album GNX. $$$4U marked PARTYNEXTDOOR's first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 and his largest first-week sales performance in his career. The album featured Yebba, Chino Pacas, and Pimmie, who got a solo performance on 'Pimmie's Dilemma.' Drake has already alluded to another solo album being on the way, though no date has been announced yet. With 'NOKIA' as a reminder that neither a rap beef loss nor a constantly-slandered defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group has stopped his ability to make a hit, it will be interesting to see how his next solo effort performs. Drake slams ‘rap beef' on new album days after Kendrick Lamar's savage halftime show
Drake has once again taken aim at past rap feuds on his new album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, released within a week after Kendrick Lamar 's brutal rendition of his hit Drake diss track at the Super Bowl. The 21-track album is in collaboration with fellow Canadian singer-songwriter and music producer PARTYNEXTDOOR. Dropped Friday, the record includes a song titled 'Gimme a Hug,' on which he calls out 'rap beef' and people hoping for his downfall. 'They be dropping s*** but we dropping harder s*** / F*** a rap beef, I'm tryna get the party lit / Tryna get the party lit for the b****es,' Drake raps in the second verse, seemingly in reference to his ongoing beef with Lamar, who 'finished' him with his Sunday halftime performance of 'Not Like Us.' 'Using you for promotion, truer words had never been spoken,' the 'God's Plan' artist adds in another line, likely in reference to his lawsuit against his music label, Universal Music Group - to which Lamar is also signed - over its release of 'Not Like Us.' 'Funny how it's only b**** n****s that are waiting on the boy's obituary / 'Cause if I die, it's these n****s that become the sole beneficiary,' he adds. In the lawsuit, Drake claims that UMG knew the allegations of paedophilia embedded into the song were false but 'chose corporate greed over the safety and well-being of its artists.' At another point in the song, Drake appears to take direct shots at rapper and presenter Joe Budden. 'Melyssa Ford, you a legend from The 6 hate to see you with a dick sucker,' he sings about Budden's podcast co-host. The Independent has contacted Budden's representative for comment. Earlier this week, Drake trolled Budden from his incognito Instagram account, posting a video of Budden walking and smoking alongside the caption: '$$$HITTING MEEEEEE.' Budden later responded on a recent episode of his self-titled Joe Budden podcast, saying: 'Hey, Drake, don't shoot at me mad that you ice cold. I'm not doing a back-and-forth with a corpse. I wanted to do it when it was fun.' Drake, who's currently touring Australia on his Anita Max Win tour, recently changed the lyrics to his 2021 song 'Knife Talk' in an apparent response to his feuds. In the original recording of the song, the second verse ends with: 'Beef is live, spoiler alert, this n***a dies.' However, during one of his Melbourne shows, Drake changed the lyrics to: 'Beef is live, spoiler alert, I never died.'
