Irish folk legends Stockton's Wing to headline popular Achill festival
Best-known for hits like 'Beautiful Affair' and 'Walk Away', Stockton's Wing are one of several popular artists who will play this year's festival, which returns to Achill from September 12-14.
Following a sold-out inaugural year in 2024, this year's festival features an expanded line-up, including Máirtín O'Connor, Cathal Hayden and Seámie Ó Dowd, John Spillane, Pauline Scanlon and The Half Room, and Brìghde Chaimbeul, alongside local talent such as the Golden Eagle Pipe Band and Féileacán. There will also be workshops and sessions, including The Bodhrán Buzz rhythm workshops and group jams led by All-Ireland champion Robbie Walsh and Ceol Acla.
Other highlights include Ceol na gCnoc, featuring an atmospheric piping recital with Leonard Barry and Brìghde Chaimbeul, and The Up and Coming, showcasing rising stars like Aoife Fadian and BRÍD McLoughlin.
The festival will also include a Chill Session hosted by Achill artist Graham Sweeney and a closing barbeque and singsong in The Shark Bar in Keel.
'The response to last year's inaugural festival was overwhelming,' said Festival Director Seán Lynch.
'It confirmed what we already knew - that there's something truly special about gathering here in Dooagh to celebrate the music and culture of this special place. This year's line-up brings together legends, innovators and emerging talent in a setting that's hard to match. We're delighted to welcome everyone back this September.'
Tickets are now on sale at and are selling quickly following last year's sell-out.
For accommodation queries please contact Achill Tourism or Keel Camping - the festival's official campsite. Early booking is strongly advised.
