Dealership honors former leader with donation campaign
(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Phil Long Dealerships said it is continuing to honor its former leader by bringing back its community giveback campaign for a second year.
On Feb. 24, 2024, former Phil Long CEO Gerald 'Jay' Cimino passed away. Along with being the former president and CEO, Cimino was a philanthropist who founded non-profits, established a community fund to build playgrounds and other youth recreation, and helped transition Fishers Peak from private land to a state park, among other achievements.
To continue Cimino's philanthropy, Phil Long Dealerships will hold its 'Thanks, Jay' community giveback campaign for a second year. During the month of April, for any new or pre-owned vehicle sold, a donation will be made to one of five community-focused causes selected by the customer.
Phil Long said the beneficiaries will be announced at a later time. Last year, the beneficiaries were Mt. Carmel Wellness & Community Center, Colorado Parks & Wildlife, Catholic Charities of Central Colorado, Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center, and the City of Colorado Springs' 1,000 Neighborhood Gatherings initiative.
