Boy, 15, charged with murder in shooting death of 13-year-old boy in Joliet

Joliet police said a 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 13-year-old boy shot to death in an alley Monday. Officers were called to the 300 block of South Desplaines Street in Joliet Monday shortly before 4:45 p.m. where they found the teen in an alley with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Wednesday, police arrested a 15-year-old boy who they said knew the victim and had been involved in an "ongoing personal dispute" with him. Police said they believe the 15-year-old confronted the 13-year-old as a part of this dispute and allegedly shot him twice during the confrontation. The teen was arrested Tuesday in the 600 block of Benton Street for aggravated battery, mob action and disorderly conduct from a separate incident on May 6, police said. While he was in custody, he was questioned about the shooting death of the 13-year-old. The Will County State's Attorney has charged the 15-year-old with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon. The teen is currently in custody at the River Valley Justice Center. He has not been identified due to his age. The victim has also not been identified. What we know The shooting happened around 7:26 p.m. in the 9000 block of South Exchange Avenue, in the South Chicago neighborhood. Police said three young men were standing near a sidewalk when they were shot. A 15-year-old boy was hit in the ankle and thigh and taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition. An 18-year-old man was shot in the back and arm, and a 19-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the hand. Both were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and reported to be in good condition. What we don't know It's unclear what led to the shooting or whether the victims were targeted. Teen charged after 17-year-old stabbed on Saskatoon city bus

A 15-year-old girl faces multiple charges after a teen girl was stabbed on a Saskatoon city bus Wednesday night. At around 10 p.m., officers were called to a stationary city bus at Wardlow Road and Appleby Drive for a report of an assault, the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) said in a news release. Arriving officers found a 17-year-old girl with non-life-threatening stab wounds and cuts. She was taken to hospital for treatment. Police say an altercation between two groups of teenage girls had occurred on the bus, resulting in the stabbing. The suspects fled the scene but one was later arrested nearby, found in possession of a knife and cannabis. The 15-year-old suspect faces charges including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, and possession of a controlled substance. Police say they continue to investigate the incident.
