MACC Food Pantry expands options, offering special options this week
As the demand for food assistance in the community continues to grow, the Mercy Center for Women is expanding their options to help.
The center opened their MACC Food Pantry in 2023, feeding about 50 individuals; it has now increased to over 600.

This week, residents who qualify can shop for perishable or non-perishable items for their homes.
The organization said that more families are turning to them for help as prices for groceries, rent and utilities increase.

'As the need for our community grows the poverty level increases as well our zip code here at 16504 looks at about 14.7 to 15.5% and again its very important that we feed our neighbors throught the anchor buidling system that we have in place,' said Jennie Hagerty, executive director of the Mercy Center for Women.
The center works in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, Wegmans and Aldi for support.
