Indian shooting squad for Asian C'ships and ISSF World Cup announced

Former men's air rifle world champion Rudrankksh Patil and Olympian Saurabh Chaudhary returned to the team as NRAI announced the 35-member squad for the 16th Asian Championship in Shymkent, Kazakhstan on Monday. The tournament is scheduled from 16th August to 30th August. Apart from the squad for Asian Championships, the squad for the ISSF World Cup (Rifle/Pistol) in Ningbo, China was also announced which is scheduled from 7th September to 15th September. Double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker made it to the Asian c'ships squad in both 10m air pistol and 25m air pistol while she missed out on the World Cup squad. The likes of Esha Singh (25m pistol), Mehuli Ghosh (air rifle) and Kiran Ankush Jadhav (air rifle) are in both the senior squads. Olympic bronze-medalist Swapnil Kusale and former Asian Games champion and Olympian Rahi Sarnobat, have made it to the Ningbo-bound squad. The squad for junior Asian Championships along with junior world cup was also announced with Raiza Dhillon being the only difference. She makes the Delhi World Cup junior women's skeet team in place of Mansi Raghuvanshi, who is in the junior ASC team as Raiza will compete in the seniors competition. The senior squad for the ISSF World Cup (Rifle/Pistol) in Ningbo, China was also released by NRAI. That event will be held from September 7 to 15. The senior squad for the marquee Asian competition comprises 35 members for the 15 events including three mixed team competitions. Bhaker will compete in the women's 10m air pistol and the women's 25m pistol events.
