Sa3ee Foundation Partners with City of Glasgow College to Empower People with Disabilities
The Sa3ee Foundation for the Rehabilitation and Employment for Disabilities has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the City of Glasgow College in the UK to promote rehabilitation programs, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The partnership seeks to foster cooperation in vocational and social rehabilitation programs, while facilitating the exchange of expertise and knowledge to support the integration of persons with disabilities into the labor market. Thus, the MoU seeks to strengthen the efforts of both parties in establishing a sustainable strategic partnership that boosts the capabilities of persons with disabilities and enhance their preparedness to take part in both local and global job markets. Both entities will collaborate on designing and carrying out specialized vocational and social training programs for persons with disabilities, exchanging knowledge, expertise, and resources. Therefore, this approach will ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of joint initiatives; and enhancing the competencies of professionals working with persons with disabilities through specialized training. Through unique training programs, the partnership will increase the efficiency of those working with people with disabilities and provide training programs for their families to enable them to support and empower their children. Overall, this initiative stands as a testament to both parties' dedication to advancing social and economic empowerment pathways. Saudi Arabia's Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission has launched the 'Qari'e' digital platform in collaboration with the Authority for the Care of People with Disabilities (APD), according to the Saudi Press Agency. The new platform offers easy and safe access to several books for visually impaired individuals, including the blind. 'Qari'e' perfectly aligns with Saudi Arabia's vision of fostering cultural and intellectual inclusion and making knowledge accessible for all people. Moreover, the initiative reflects the Kingdom's dedication to the Marrakesh Treaty, which seeks to provide smooth access to books for persons with visual disabilities as well as those who have difficulties in reading printed materials.
