YKK Named CDP Supplier Engagement Leader for FY2024
YKK Corporation has once again been recognized as a global sustainability leader, earning the Supplier Engagement Leader title from international non-profit CDP in its FY2024 Supplier Engagement Assessment—marking the third consecutive year the company has received this top-tier honor.
This recognition highlights YKK's robust initiatives to cut greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its supply chain and foster deeper supplier collaboration to achieve sustainability targets. In February 2025, YKK also secured an 'A' score in CDP's 2024 Climate Change Survey, underlining its consistent climate action.
Takayuki Aoki, Vice President of Procurement & Logistics at YKK, attributed the achievement to the company's Sustainability Vision 2050 and long-standing CYCLE OF GOODNESS® philosophy, which prioritizes societal benefit as a key business driver. 'We are working with strategic suppliers to develop and adopt low-carbon materials, as well as establishing closed-loop recycling models across the supply chain,' he said.
The Supplier Engagement Assessment evaluates how effectively companies engage suppliers on climate change. YKK's strong showing underscores its role in driving climate accountability beyond internal operations.
As part of its Sustainability Vision 2050, YKK is advancing goals across five themes—Climate Change, Material Resources, Water Resources, Chemical Management, and Respect for People—while aligning with ten key SDGs. Progress is reported annually through the YKK Integrated Report.
