Alabama football spot in preseason Coaches Poll is exactly where you'd expect
After a four-loss 2024 season, Alabama football finds itself back in the top 10 heading into 2025.
In the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll, Alabama is ranked No. 8. The Crimson Tide, which finished as the No. 17 team in the final 2024 Coaches Poll, did not receive a first-place vote.
Texas enters 2025 as the preseason No. 1 team with 28 of the 67 total first-place votes. No. 2 Ohio State (20), No. 3 Penn State (14), No. 4 Georgia (3) and No. 6 Clemson (2) also each received first-place votes.
Alabama is one of nine SEC teams listed in the preseason poll along with the Longhorns, Bulldogs, No. 9 LSU, No. 13 South Carolina, No. 15 Ole Miss, No. 17 Florida, No. 18 Tennessee and No. 21 Texas A&M.

Alabama will open the 2025 season at Florida State Aug. 30. The Seminoles received eight votes in the preseason coaches poll.
