Post Malone Earns His First No. 1 With Some Help From A Famous Friend

Post Malone and Taylor Swift's "Fortnight" reaches to No. 1 on three U.K. sales charts, including a ... More debut appearance atop the Official Vinyl Singles list. ELMONT, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 11: (L-R) Taylor Swift and Post Malone attend the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York. (Photo byfor MTV) Post Malone is having a massive week on the U.K. charts, and he has Taylor Swift –and a new vinyl pressing – to thank for some of his success. The multi-genre superstar is back at No. 1 on several rankings with the blockbuster duet 'Fortnight,' and the song even earns him a brand new chart-topper on a list that had previously eluded him completely. 'Fortnight' finds its way back to the summit on two tallies in the U.K. The hit collaboration returns to No. 1 on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Physical Singles charts, both of which track pure purchases in different formats. The same cut also launches atop the Official Vinyl Singles chart, becoming the bestselling individual song on wax in the U.K. this week. That's a new placement for the track — and a milestone for Malone. Despite his global fame and chart dominance across multiple other rankings, Malone had never appeared on the Official Vinyl Singles chart before this week. That changes as 'Fortnight' doesn't just break onto the ranking, it debuts at No. 1. It's not often that musicians open in first place with their first wins on any roster, let alone a sales-focused list. 'Fortnight' has now appeared on the Official Physical Singles chart in only two weeks — and both times it's run the show. The single debuted at No. 1 back in May 2024 before vanishing entirely from the tally. Nearly a year later, it's back at No. 1 once again. That isn't quite the case when it comes to the Official Singles Sales chart. On that roster, 'Fortnight' started at No. 8, then quickly climbed to No. 1 the following frame. Over the past year, it has now spent 18 weeks on that ranking in total, with just two of them in the top spot. 'Fortnight' is back following another hugely successful edition of Record Store Day. The song was reissued as a white 7-inch vinyl, featuring the original duet on one side and a remix on the other. The limited-edition pressing instantly became a collectible for fans of both Swift and Malone – which means, to a lot of people. The smash also returns to the main U.K. singles ranking. This week, the cut reappears at No. 29 on the Official Singles chart, the country's primary list of the most popular tracks. While not a new peak – it's already topped the tally – it's an impressive resurgence for a tune that many assumed had run its course.

Taylor Swift May Be Headed For A Top 10 Hit In A Few Days

Taylor Swift and Post Malone's 'Fortnight' may return to the U.K. top 10 after a Record Store Day ... More vinyl reissue apparently boosted sales. ELMONT, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 11: (L-R) Post Malone and Taylor Swift accept the Best Collaboration award for "Fortnight" on stage during the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York. (Photo byfor MTV) Taylor Swift may be just days away from scoring one of the biggest songs in the United Kingdom – not with a brand new release, but with a slightly-refreshed version of a recent smash. Her hit 'Fortnight,' a collaboration with Post Malone, is on track to reenter the weekly rankings across the Atlantic (and possibly in the U.S. as well) thanks to a collectible pressing. The duo's single was re-released for Record Store Day 2025, and while exact sales data hasn't been published yet, there's already a strong indication that 'Fortnight' performed exceptionally well. The Official Charts Company in the U.K. has the tune sitting at No. 2 on its first look, a preview of what's likely to appear on the full roster when it updates this coming Friday. That placement suggests that the special edition sold enough to push the song back into the top tier of the ranking of the most-consumed songs in the country. The current prediction leaves Swift and Malone just one space shy of reclaiming the top spot, and depending on how the rest of the week shakes out, 'Fortnight' could still leap into first place. Even if it doesn't quite return to No. 1, a reappearance at No. 2 – or anywhere inside the top 10 –would be an impressive feat for a tune that originally hit the summit in 2024. The song has been absent from the Official Singles chart for some time now, so even a near-miss would be huge. A white vinyl 7-inch of the song was made available exclusively to purchase in brick and mortar record stores to celebrate Record Store Day. On side A is the original version of the track, while the B-side features a remix by Blond:Ish, and the wax release is the first time that specific reworking has been made available on vinyl. That small detail might seem trivial, but when it comes to Swift's discography, even the most minor changes can drive sales. 'Fortnight' was always going to sell well. It's a Swift release, after all. The singer-songwriter has a long track record of moving enormous numbers of every project she touches, and fans often rush to collect whatever she drops—even when it's a variation they've technically already heard. This 7-inch pressing was produced in fairly large quantities for a Record Store Day item, so it's safe to assume it sold briskly, especially considering Swift's usual pull. 'Fortnight' debuted as the lead single from The Tortured Poets Department, one of Swift's more experimental full-lengths. It marked her first collaboration with Malone, and their combined star power helped push the track straight to No. 1 when it was new. The track hasn't found space on the U.K. charts for some time, but in just a few days, it may return to several, becoming not just an overall hit, but also a bestseller.
