Why Does Morgan Wallen Dominate the Charts But Get Shut Out at Awards Shows?

Over the past four years, when Morgan Wallen releases an album, it has camped out at the top of the Billboard 200 for quite some time. Starting with the 10-week No. 1 Dangerous: The Double Album in 2021 and continuing with 19-week chart-topper One Thing at a Time in 2023, Wallen has a pretty unimpeachable commercial track record. This week, he'll release his 37-track fourth studio album, I'm the Problem, and all signs point to another blockbuster. So why didn't the country superstar pick up any new prizes at last week's 2025 ACM Awards, despite seven nominations including for the top prize of entertainer of the year? Does his seeming dismissal by country voters stem from being caught on camera saying the N-word back in 2021, or to a series of public mishaps in the years since, like when he pleaded guilty to throwing a chair from the roof of a six-story Nashville bar last year? Or maybe it's because he didn't show up when he was named entertainer of the year at the CMA Awards, one of two total prizes he's won there. Louisiana stars win big at 2025 ACM Awards, with country favorites headed near you soon

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Louisiana showed up at the 2025 ACM Awards, which aired live from Frisco, Texas, on May 8, 2025. Some of the night's biggest stars are either from right here in our backyard or headed our way soon. Kix Brooks, born and raised in Shreveport, took the stage once again as one half of Brooks & Dunn, who grabbed another Duo of the Year win. The legendary pair's long connection to Louisiana's music roots was front and center, proof that Shreveport's influence on country music hasn't slowed down a bit. Jordan Davis, another hometown name, was also in the building. The Shreveport native served as a presenter this year, standing among the top names in country music. Davis has long credited his time growing up in Shreveport for shaping his sound, and now he's bringing that local legacy to national stages. Several artists who lit up the ACM stage are set to perform in the Shreveport-Bossier area over the next few months, making the celebration feel even closer to home. Lainey Wilson, who dominated the night with four major wins, including Entertainer of the Year, is coming to Bossier City later this year as part of her Whirlwind Tour. Wilson, a Baskin, Louisiana native, also took home Female Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Artist-Songwriter of the Year. She's no stranger to northwest Louisiana and now she's bringing that winning streak back to the region. Parker McCollum, who stepped in as a presenter during the show, is also Shreveport-bound. The Texas artist has a stop booked at Brookshire Grocery Arena this July, keeping his strong fan base in Louisiana close. Gretchen Wilson to headline R&B Jazz festival after winning The Masked Singer Gretchen Wilson also made an appearance at the ACM Awards as a presenter. Fresh off her win on The Masked Singer Season 13, Wilson will be in Natchitoches for the upcoming Jazz R&B Festival May 10, 2025. The 2025 ACM Awards may have been held in Texas but make no mistake the heart of country music was pulsing from right here in northwest Louisiana. And with all these artists headed our way soon, the celebration's far from over. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Kanye West sends Kim Kardashian cease and desist over ‘welfare' of kids: Report

Kanye West has sent his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, a cease and desist letter over the 'welfare' of their four kids, according to a TMZ report. The rapper alleged that the reality star left their 11-year-old daughter, North, all alone during the 2025 Met Gala and exposed her to 'significant media attention.' On Friday, an attorney for the 24-time Grammy winner sent Kardashian's lawyer a legal letter, 'concerning the welfare and custody of Mr. West's minor children: North West, Saint West, Chicago West, and Psalm West,' per the outlet. Also Read: A$AP Rocky shows off custom gold and diamond ring shaped exactly like Rihanna: 'You see this sexy thing?' The document adds that West is demanding that Kardashian 'cease and desist from actions that violate' his 'parental rights, exploit his children, and breach the joint custody agreement' established in their divorce settlement, which was finalised in November 2022. West further claimed, 'Reports indicate that North was left unattended in a vehicle during portions of the event, posing risks to her safety,' adding that the SKIMS founder 'published or authorized the publication of North's images and videos on social media platforms,' despite his 'explicit objection to his children's presence on such platforms.' Also Read: Lainey Wilson wins big at 2025 ACM Awards. Here's the full list of winners The Gold Digger rapper reiterated his recent claims on X that Kardashian does not let him visit their kids despite prior arrangements between them, arguing that it 'violates the custody agreement's provisions for equal parental access and decision-making.' The letter adds that West 'has been denied meaningful access to his children,' adding that 'he has had no contact with his son, Saint West, in 2025' and 'his interactions with North, Chicago, and Psalm have been unreasonably restricted,' per the outlet.
