Kneecap and booking agent IAG part ways

It has been announced that the Irish group Kneecap have split from their booking agency Independent Artist Group. The news was confirmed by the agency themselves when asked by The Hollywood Reporter, but they declined to give a reason for the decision. The split comes after a controversial few weeks for the trio, with their Coachella sets being mired in controversy and an investigation being opened in the UK with the anti-terror police set to examine footage from a recent gig in London, but it is not confirmed if these two incidents are linked to IAG's announcement. On the first weekend, the livestream of their set was cut after they started a chant surrounding the death of Margaret Thatcher. In the second weekend, the group displayed messages on a large screen during their performance. Mo Chara and Móglaí Bap from Kneecap performing at Coachella. Free Palestine'. It also recently emerged that footage of the Irish rappers performing at a London venue in November is being assessed by counter-terrorism police in the UK. The investigation was spurred on after clips were posted online that appear to show one member of the group shouting 'up Hamas, up Hezbollah' at a performance at the Kentish Town Forum, and a Hezbollah flag being displayed. However, Kneecap still has the backing of their manager Daniel Lambert, who praised the group for showing 'bravery and conviction' in using their platform to showcase matters that are important to them. He said on Drivetime: 'If somebody is hurt by the truth, that's something for them to be hurt by, but it's really important to speak truth. Thankfully the lads are not afraid to do that.'

UK anti-terror police set to examine footage of Kneecap gig in London

Footage of Irish rappers Kneecap performing at a London venue in November is being assessed by counter-terrorism police in the UK. Clips posted online appear to show one member of the group shouting 'up Hamas, up Hezbollah' at a performance at the Kentish Town Forum, and a Hezbollah flag being displayed. Both Hamas and Hezbollah are banned in the UK and it is a crime to express support for them. A police spokesperson said: 'We have been made aware of the video and it has been referred to the Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit for assessment.' Kneecap have already come under fire for their performance at US music festival Coachella on April 18. Free Palestine'. It ignited a controversy in the US, featuring in media including Fox News, the LA Times and Variety. The manager of the Irish language rappers from Belfast said yesterday they had received death threats after Coachella, with Daniel Lambert telling RTÉ Radio that the nature of the threats would be 'too severe' to outline on air. Mr Lambert said that suggesting the rappers' message at Coachella was offensive would be 'buying into moral hysteria' and said the real issue was the tens of thousands of people being killed by Israeli forces in Gaza. The Coachella controversy led to Sharon Osbourne calling for the Belfast trio to have their US work visas revoked, amid an ongoing tour in the country and Kneecap hit back yesterday, with a reference to one of her husband Ozzy Osbourne's songs with Black Sabbath. The band shared a satirical article on their Instagram with the headline: 'Sharon Osbourne shocked to learn meaning of 'War Pigs' after reading lyrics for first time.' Justin Bieber's Coachella behaviour sparks concern over mental health and personal struggles

Concerns about Justin Bieber's well-being have intensified following his appearance during the second weekend of the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, held earlier this month. The 30-year-old pop star was seen behaving in what some described as a 'spaced-out' manner, raising fresh questions about his mental and physical health. A widely circulated video from the festival shows Bieber appearing unusually withdrawn and visibly thinner, drawing uneasy reactions not only from fans but reportedly also from members of his own circle. His team has continued to maintain that he is doing well, but the footage has reignited speculation across social media platforms. Bieber has previously spoken openly about his battles with addiction and mental health issues, crediting his Christian faith and marriage to Hailey Bieber as stabilising factors in recent years. However, some observers believe recent life events — including the birth of his son Jack Blues — may have marked a shift in his emotional state. The timing of Selena Gomez's recent marriage to Benny Blanco, a figure within Bieber's social network, has also caught the attention of fans. Online conversations have drawn comparisons between Gomez's current career momentum and Bieber's more reserved public appearances, though such discussions remain speculative. While the exact nature of Bieber's current state remains unclear, the public reaction reflects genuine concern. Whether he is experiencing a difficult period or simply navigating life under intense scrutiny, many fans are expressing hope that he finds the support and stability he needs.

Coachella 2025: Easter costumes, a gorgeous sunset and other highs and lows from Sunday

The final day of the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival arrived on Easter, with tens of thousands choosing to worship the deities of good music at the Empire Polo Club. Although the day featured fewer surprises than Friday or Saturday of Weekend 2, it still held captivating performances from the likes of Post Malone, Jennie, Megan Thee Stallion and more. Walking into Coachella on Sunday, the parking attendants cheered on attendees by shouting out the holidays taking place. Easter, Passover and the marijuana-themed 4/20 both occurred on Sunday. Judging from the smoke emitting from the Empire Polo Club the entire day, it seemed pretty obvious which holiday festivalgoers celebrated. That's not to say no one took note of the Christian holiday, however. Someone dressed as the Easter bunny wandered the grounds, while bunny ears and crosses could be seen throughout the day. There's nothing like a childhood game to rekindle the joys of being a kid. That happened at around 5:20 p.m. on Sunday during Ben Böhmer's set. As the German DJ played melodic house music, attendees fanned a rainbow parachute as others ran beneath it. The activity evoked many memories of elementary school for me, and I know I wasn't the only one thinking it. It proved to be such a good idea that dozens of people ran toward the parachute as soon as it was unveiled by an anonymous spectator. Coachella attendees know to look out at sunset for the golden hues of the sun setting below the mountains. They were treated to quite the treat on Sunday, with the clouds changing into a pinkish orange color as the sky darkened. Dozens of people took out their phones to snap the special moment. It was the perfect way to close out an epic weekend. Honorary high from the editor: Jessie Murph crushed her Weekend 2 set Sunday and used the performance as an opportunity to not only cover Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats," but also to break the news of her upcoming tour. By the last day of the festival, the grass in certain parts of the Empire Polo Club has been trampled into oblivion. High-traffic areas have been ground to bare dirt, and the dust is kicked up into the air. It's unavoidable, in a dry environment where hundreds of thousands of people have walked, but it's still a bit of a downer when you sit down and get little pieces of dead grass on your shorts. Usually sound issues are a Weekend 1 thing, but this year, fans of Beabadoobee were subjected to an unreliable mix that drowned out some of the high-pitched tones. The mic also cut out during Beabadoobee's first song, creating an awkward beginning. The mixing issues appeared throughout the set, with an overpowering bass making it difficult to hear the singing and guitars. Honorary low from the editor: Alessia Cara, one of Zedd's several special guests, also experienced mic issues, which was a huge bummer for those of us who were super excited when she ran out to surprise the crowd. She also was out there for only one song, so she didn't get the chance to redeem herself. There were so few special guests for the last day of Coachella 2025, I'm actually struggling to remember who brought anyone out other than Zedd and Ty Dolla $ign. Here's some of the better-known artists who surprised us last week by bringing out another performer, yet brought nobody out this week: Jennie Megan Thee Stallion Jessie Murph Junior H Shaboozey (this one is only half correct, technically. Nobody performed with the country star, but he did bring retired racer Jeff Gordon out to thank him for being an inspiration) Another festival has come and gone, which means both the highs and the lows of Coachella will fade into memory ... until next year, that is. No matter how footsore or sleep-deprived you might be, it's always a bummer to wake up on Monday to the realization it's all over. Oh well, time to think about who might headline in 2026. Deadmau5 apologizes to fans for drunken Coachella set — and says it's ‘probably' his last: ‘I don't remember a thing'

Deadmau5 might not remember his Coachella set, but his fans certainly will. The Canadian DJ, whose real name is Joel Thomas Zimmerman, apologized this weekend after his Testpilot performance at the popular music and arts festival was cut short on Friday. Deadmau5 and fellow music producer Zhu, with whom he was performing alongside, were seen drinking behind their DJ decks while Deadmau5 struggled to stand upright, as seen in an Instagram video of the incident. Advertisement 'I dont remember a thing,' the EDM producer, 44, admitted in an Instagram post shared on Saturday. 'But I don't think I had a cig? So… that's good I guess?' 'Going back to bed,' he added alongside a photo of a water bottle. 'Wake me up around Thursday ish.' 7 Deadmau5 was seen drinking onstage during his Coachella set on Friday, April 18. 'Probably my last coachella show,' Deadmau5 wrote. The Instagram comments also included a back-and-forth between Deadmau5 and Zhu in which Deadmau5 admitted that he was drinking whisky during their joint Coachella performance. 7 'I dont remember a thing,' Deadmau5 admitted in an Instagram post on Saturday, April 19, alongside a photo of a water bottle. Instagram/deadmau5 Advertisement 'Dude… that whisky. I can't. lol,' the 'I Remember' DJ wrote. 'Good to see you again tho!' Deadmau5 returned to the social media platform on Sunday to once again apologize to his fans for his behavior onstage two nights prior in Indio, Calif. 'Man, even my cat is disappointed in me. Tho, it could be argued that she always has been,' he wrote alongside a picture of his feline friend. 'Sorry about last night. Lol. TO BE FAIR, I felt the first 3/4 was great!' 7 'Man, even my cat is disappointed in me,' the DJ added in a second Instagram post alongside a photo of his cat on Sunday, April 20. Instagram/deadmau5 'Huge shout out to [Zhu] for introducing me to whisky and carrying my dumb ass till the bitter end,' Deadmau5 added. 'Lemme quit smoking, do some f–ken personal resetting here at home, find my spirit animal, work on some new music, and come back better.' One day before his Coachella set, Deadmau5 took to Instagram to announce that he was 'coming down with a little bug.' But he told his fans 'don't worry' because he was '100% still going to rock out with Zhu' the next night. 'I'm going to try to quit with the cigarettes starting today,' he wrote. 'I haven't made a solid effort to quit in years. I've always wanted to, but my god, breaking a nicotine addiction is up there for me because I've always found it as a wonderful stress pacifier, but yeah. I think it's time.' 7 Deadmau5 said he was 'coming down with a little bug' one day before his Coachella set with Zhu on Friday, April 18. Instagram/deadmau5 Advertisement Deadmau5's shocking performance came after thousands of festival-goers were forced to brave long, 12-hour lines and near-record temperatures just to enter Coachella this year. While some attendees said the conditions were the worst since the festival first began in 1999, others compared this year's two-weekend event to the infamous Fyre Festival failure back in 2017. 'It was truly the worst experience ever and also super disappointing because of how much money we spent to be at an event that we really loved,' one attendee lamented.
