Family-friendly comedian Nate Bargatze to host 2025 Emmy Awards
Nate Bargatze, who has made a name for himself with a particular brand of family-friendly comedy, has a new gig as the host of the 2025 Emmy Awards. Bargatze, made popular by comedy specials like 'The Tennessee Kid' and 'Nate Bargatze: Hello World,' will emcee the show that honors the best in television, set to take place in September, according to a news release. 'It's a huge honor to be asked to host such an iconic awards show and I'm beyond excited to work with CBS to create a night that can be enjoyed by families around the world,' Bargatze said in a statement Wednesday. Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego said that Bargatze is 'one of the hottest comics in the business with a remarkable and hilarious brand of comedy that deeply resonates with multi-generational audiences around the globe.' 'We are thrilled to be able to leverage his one-of-a-kind perspective to entertain TV fans watching this year's Emmy telecast,' he added. Bargatze is currently touring his Big Dumb Eyes World Tour to sold out audiences around the world. In 2024, Bargatze broke 20 total arena attendance records, according to the release. Bargatze previously has experience hosting, having been a two-time 'Saturday Night Live' host in 2023 and 2024. He is also known for his Netflix and Amazon comedy specials, including his 2019 debut special 'The Tennessee Kid' and his Grammy-nominated 'The Greatest Average American' that debuted in 2021. His third special 'Nate Bargatze: Hello World' debuted on Amazon in 2023 and became one of the streamer's most-streamed original comedy specials. Bargatze also hosts an improv-centric podcast called 'The Nateland Podcast' alongside his co-hosts Brian Bates, Aaron Weber and Dusty Slay. The 2025 Emmy Awards will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on September 14 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Emmy Awards 2025: Nominations to be unveiled on July 15
The 2025 Emmy Awards have officially set a date for the live telecast, marking the return of the prestigious ceremony to its regular September scheduling. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 77th Primetime ceremony will air live on Sunday, September 14, on CBS and stream on Paramount Plus. According to the Television Academy, the telecast will originate from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, kicking off at 8 pm ET and running for more than three hours. This marks the second consecutive year that the Emmys have returned to their traditional September scheduling, following a one-time shift to January 2024 due to the Hollywood writers and actors' strikes. The 2025 Emmy nominations will be unveiled on July 15, and the ceremony's host and producers have yet to be announced. The live telecast will follow the pre-taped Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremonies, which will take place on September 6 and 7. In addition to airing on CBS, the 2025 Emmys will also stream live on Paramount Plus for subscribers who have access to their local CBS affiliate on the service. The ceremony will also be available on demand, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Last year's 2024 Emmys saw FX's Shogun dominate the best drama categories, while Hacks took home the surprise win for best comedy. Other notable winners included Baby Reindeer, which nabbed four awards, including best limited or anthology series.

Yara Sameh The 2025 Emmy Awards have a date. The 77th primetime ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 14, CBS and the Television Academy announced on Wednesday. The ceremony will air live throughout the mainland on CBS at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. as well as streaming on Paramount+ (for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers). The 77th Emmys will also be available to watch on demand the next day for all Paramount+ users. It will once again take place at Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles' L.A. Live complex. That means that the two-night Creative Arts Emmys, which usually take place the weekend before the Primetime Emmys telecast, will be held on Saturday, September 6 and Sunday, September 7.
