Former LSU baseball slugger Tommy White earns promotions in A's minor leagues
Former LSU slugger Tommy White earned a promotion in the minor leagues on Tuesday, per MiLB Central.
White will make the jump from the High-A Lansing Lugnuts to the Double-A Midland RockHounds within the Athletics' farm system.
The move comes after an appearance for the American League in the 2025 Futures Game in July and a stint on the seven-day injured list in March. White remains one of the top prospects in the Athletics' organization.
In 2025, his second minor league season, White had a .260 batting average, 66 hits, 38 runs, and 36 RBIs through 66 games in High-A. He started 2024 in single-A after a No. 40 overall selection in the 2024 MLB Draft.
White is the No. 6 prospect in the Athletics' farm system. Here is what scouting report says about him.
"White's right-handed power is legitimate and he can hit the ball a long way to all fields thanks to his strength and bat speed. He might be known for his home run totals but he's a better overall hitter than people think, finding the barrel consistently and limiting strikeouts. His knack for contact can lead to him expanding his strike zone, but he doesn't swing and miss very often."
