Kedah Sultan: Reject bullying, embrace culture of love and respect
ALOR STAR: The Sultan of Kedah, Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah, has called on students to embrace a culture of love and respect while rejecting bullying in any form, whether mental or physical.
His Royal Highness said students must strive to become knowledgeable, skilful, and ready to serve religion, race, and nation.
"Let us build a culture of compassion and respect, while rejecting all forms of immoral practices such as bullying, whether physical or emotional, that bring harm and distress to others.
"May all students continue to excel with noble character in the future," he said in his speech at the 2025 Haflu Takrim Al Mutafawwiqin Ceremony of the Kedah Maktab Mahmud Board today.
Sultan Sallehuddin said education is not solely the duty of teachers and schools.
"Your (parents') role is vital in shaping a generation of quality and good character.
"Parents, families, society, and institutions alike must share responsibility in supporting teachers and schools in fulfilling their duties.
"Imam Al-Ghazali once said, 'Faith and deeds originate from knowledge.
Knowledge is acquired through learning. Faith without deeds is meaningless, and deeds without sincerity have no value'."
Therefore, continue your pursuit of knowledge, not only in schools but throughout life, he said.
