Spain love triangle footballer makes red carpet debut with stunning new girlfriend as he tries to move on from the drama
Atletico Madrid star Robin Le Normand - who had previously been involved in a love triangle - has been spotted with a stunning new girlfriend on the red carpet. The Spanish international was suited and booted as he posed alongside model Cassandra Cano at the 2025 Laureus World Sport Awards in Madrid on Monday. Le Normand was all smiles they struck a pose and the couple were spotted in deep conversation as they made their way across the red carpet. The defender's public appearance with Cano comes after the end to his 'love triangle' with the daughter of PSG boss Luis Enrique - Sira Martinez - and Barcelona star Ferran Torres. Martinez and Torres first started dating when the latter was at Manchester City over three years ago but ended the relationship in May 2023 to focus on their careers. Reports in April 2024 then claimed the 24-year-old was dating Torres' Spain team-mate Le Normand, though this was never officially confirmed as well. Then, in February, Torres and Martinez fuelled rumours that they rekindled their relationship via social media. The pair followed each other back on Instagram and the Barcelona star even liked one of her recent posts from the Maldives, before removing it after eagle-eyed fans spotted it. According to El Nacional, she fell in love with Torres while he played for City and had already been selected by her father to play for the Spanish national team. Luis Enrique, Martinez's father, managed the Spanish national side before taking over at PSG. Torres was at City between August 2020 and January 2022, making his first senior appearance for his country in a 1-1 draw with Germany a month after he arrived at the Etihad Stadium. They lived together in Barcelona after his £55m move to Barcelona. They went their separate ways in May 2023 after Martinez broke up with the footballer. Martinez reportedly wanted to focus on her sporting career. She has 341,000 followers on Instagram and has been riding horses since she was a child. Le Normand, meanwhile, was born in France and started playing at Brest but obtained Spanish nationality in 2023 and was part of the Spain squad that won the UEFA Nations League in the same year. Martinez and her father Enrique were hit by tragedy in 2019 with the death of her sister Xana, at the age of 9 from bone cancer. Enrique revealed that Xana had fought osteosarcoma for 'five intense months' and described her as the 'star that guides our family'. Speaking in 2020, she admitted that she now views life in a different way following Xana's death on August 29 the previous year. As reported by Marca, she told Vanity Fair: 'I am very sensitive, but when I have to be strong I can be,' Martinez told Vanity Fair. 'What I have experienced with my sister has made me look at life differently. 'Before I moaned at the smallest of problems and now I stop and say that I have to live life and enjoy every moment of it; you never know when it will end.'
