Schedule released for Chapel Hill Regional in 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament
Schedule released for Chapel Hill Regional in 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament Can UNC make the Super Regionals for a second-straight year? Now the fun begins! The 2025 Chapel Hill Regional is set. — Carolina Baseball (@DiamondHeels) May 26, 2025 The 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament is just around the corner, with your North Carolina Tar Heels hosting a regional for the second consecutive season. UNC (42-12), which dominated Clemson 14-4 in the ACC Championship on Sunday, will enter its Chapel Hill Regional as the fifth national seed. There's a case for North Carolina earning a higher seed, but if there's one thing I notice from watching Regionals, the host isn't guaranteed to advance. The Diamond Heels will host a loaded field in their Regional, welcoming Oklahoma, Nebraska and Holy Cross. The Sooners (35-20, 14-16) come from a loaded SEC, the Cornhuskers (32-27, 15-15) played in a solid Big 10, while the Crusaders (31-25, 17-8) won the Patriot League Tournament. On Monday, UNC also learned it'll open its Chapel Hill Regional with a 12 p.m. first pitch – on Friday, May 30 vs. Holy Cross. We'll give you the full Chapel Hill Regional schedule below, but we'll also preview a couple potential paths for the Diamond Heels. If UNC beats Holy Cross Friday, it'll face the winner of Nebraska and Oklahoma on Saturday. If North Carolina loses Friday, it'll face the loser of Nebraska-Oklahoma. Friday, May 30 Game 1: No. 1 North Carolina vs. No. 4 Holy Cross | 12 p.m. Game 2: No. 2 Oklahoma vs. No. 3 Nebraska | 5 p.m. Saturday, May 31 Game 3: Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2 (Elimination game) 12 p.m. Game 4: Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2 | 6 p.m. Sunday, June 1 Game 5: Winner of Game 3 vs. Loser of Game 4 - 12 p.m. (Elimination Game) Game 6: Winner of Game 5 vs. Winner of Game 4 - 6 p.m. Monday, June 2 Game 7: (If necessary) Winner of Game 6 vs. Loser of Game 6 - Time TBA There is no information yet on when single-game tickets, or all-Regional passes, will go on sale to the general public. Social media reacts to Clemson's seed in the 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament Clemson now knows its postseason path. After coming up short in the ACC title game, the Tigers were awarded the No. 11 national seed in the 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament and will host the Clemson Regional for a third straight year. Clemson (44-16) will open regional play Friday night at 6 p.m. ET against No. 4 seed USC Upstate, a team it defeated 7-0 back in early March. It's the Spartans' first NCAA Tournament appearance after winning the Big South championship over the weekend. No. 2 seed West Virginia (41-14), the Big 12 regular-season champ, and No. 3 seed Kentucky (29-24), which owns one of the toughest schedules in the country, will face off earlier that day at noon. The Tigers, ranked No. 9 in RPI and No. 12 in the Coaches Poll, boast a 10-10 record against Quad 1 teams and are unbeaten against Quad 4 competition. If Clemson advances, it's in line to face No. 6 national seed LSU in a potential Super Regional matchup in Baton Rouge. This is the 19th time Clemson has hosted a regional since 1980. Full bracket revealed for 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament, with USC in the 64-team field
Full bracket revealed for 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament, with USC in the 64-team field Vanderbilt is the No. 1 overall seed at the 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament. USC was one of the last four at-large teams in the field. On Monday morning, the bracket was revealed for this year's NCAA Baseball Tournament. USC is in the field, heading to the tournament for the first time in a decade. College Sports Wire noted that USC was one of the last four teams in the field, as relayed by ESPN on its selection show. This next point is worth noting: "USC was down to its last out in the Big Ten Tournament pool-play game against Washington on Friday. The Trojans were not going to advance in the tournament. They were already eliminated from contention for the semifinals. Penn State, UCLA, and Iowa had already locked up berths, with Nebraska playing Oregon for the fourth semifinal slot. However, that one game against Washington was up for grabs. Had the Trojans not won it, they might have been left out. Adrian Lopez's two-run double turned a 5-4 defeat into a 6-5 victory for USC. That one play might have made the difference between USC getting in and either UConn or SELA getting in." Let's take a look at the full 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament bracket: Nashville Regional (1) Vanderbilt (42-16) vs. Wright State (38-19) East Tennessee State (41-15) vs. Louisville (35-21) Hattiesburg Regional (16) Southern Miss (44-14) vs. Columbia (29-17) Miami (31-24) vs. Alabama (41-16) Tallahassee Regional (9) Florida State (38-14) vs. Bethune-Cookman (37-21) Mississippi State (34-21) vs. Northeastern (48-9) Corvallis Regional (8) Oregon State (41-12-1) vs. Saint Mary's (35-24) USC (35-21) vs. TCU (39-18) Chapel Hill Regional (5) North Carolina (42-12) vs. Holy Cross (31-25) Nebraska (32-27) vs. Oklahoma (35-20) Eugene Regional (12) Oregon (42-14) vs. Utah Valley (32-27) Cal Poly (41-17) vs. Arizona (39-18) Conway Regional (13) Coastal Carolina (48-11) vs. Fairfield (39-17) East Carolina (33-25) vs. Florida (38-20) Auburn Regional (4) Auburn (38-18) vs. Central Connecticut (31-15) Stetson (40-20) vs. NC State (33-19) Baton Rouge Regional (6) LSU (43-14) vs. Little Rock (24-32) Rhode Island (38-20) vs. Dallas Baptist (40-16) Clemson Regional (11) Clemson (44-16) vs. USC Upstate (36-23) Kentucky (29-24) vs. West Virginia (41-14) Fayetteville Regional (3) Arkansas (43-13) vs. North Dakota State (20-32) Creighton (41-14) vs. Kansas (43-15) Knoxville Regional (14) Tennessee (43-16) vs. Miami (Ohio) (35-21) Cincinnati (32-24) vs. Wake Forest (36-20) Athens Regional (7) Georgia (42-15) vs. Binghamton (29-24) Oklahoma State (28-23) vs. Duke (37-19) Oxford Regional (10) Ole Miss (40-19) vs. Murray State (39-13) Western Kentucky (46-12) vs. Georgia Tech (40-17) Austin Regional (2) Texas (42-12) vs. Houston Christian (32-23) Kansas State (31-24) vs. UTSA (44-13) Los Angeles Regional (15) UCLA (42-16) vs. Fresno State (31-27) Arizona State (35-22) vs. UC Irvine (41-15)
