The 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament is just around the corner, with your North Carolina Tar Heels hosting a regional for the second consecutive season.
UNC (42-12), which dominated Clemson 14-4 in the ACC Championship on Sunday, will enter its Chapel Hill Regional as the fifth national seed. There's a case for North Carolina earning a higher seed, but if there's one thing I notice from watching Regionals, the host isn't guaranteed to advance.
The Diamond Heels will host a loaded field in their Regional, welcoming Oklahoma, Nebraska and Holy Cross. The Sooners (35-20, 14-16) come from a loaded SEC, the Cornhuskers (32-27, 15-15) played in a solid Big 10, while the Crusaders (31-25, 17-8) won the Patriot League Tournament.
On Monday, UNC also learned it'll open its Chapel Hill Regional with a 12 p.m. first pitch – on Friday, May 30 vs. Holy Cross.
We'll give you the full Chapel Hill Regional schedule below, but we'll also preview a couple potential paths for the Diamond Heels. If UNC beats Holy Cross Friday, it'll face the winner of Nebraska and Oklahoma on Saturday. If North Carolina loses Friday, it'll face the loser of Nebraska-Oklahoma.

There is no information yet on when single-game tickets, or all-Regional passes, will go on sale to the general public. We do know that single-game tickets will cost $20 when released, according to GoHeels.com, with standing room only tickets available for purchase on game days.

The ACC's legal infighting is officially over after Florida State, Clemson and the ACC filed to dismiss the cases against each other Tuesday. That's a critical window as TV contracts with the SEC, Big Ten and College Football Playoff will expire — potentially setting the stage for another massive round of conference realignment. The agreement reported in March also created a new way for the ACC to share revenue with its members. About 60% of conference payouts would be divided based on TV viewership in football and men's basketball. That amounts to more than $15 million in extra revenue for the top earners — a significant bonus as ACC paydays lag behind those in the SEC and Big Ten. Florida State officials previously said that the gap would exceed $30 million in the coming years unless things changed.
