Rocket Classic field 2025: Ex-champs Rickie Fowler, Tony Finau, Cam Davis in PGA Tour stop

The Rocket Classic has already had some memorable finishes, and some of the champions responsible will be back for the 2025 edition. Former champions Cam Davis, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler and Nate Lashley have committed to playing in the 2025 Rocket Classic at Detroit Golf Club, the tournament announced May 8. Advertisement Davis won the 2024 event after Akshay Bhatia ended with a 3-putt on the final hole, letting slip his nearly tournament-long lead. Davis also won the 2021 event in a three-man playoff against Troy Merritt and Joaquin Niemann, making him the only two-time winner in the tournament's six years. Joining Davis in the 2025 field will be Rickie Fowler, who won the tournament in 2023 in an exciting three-man playoff against Collin Morikawa and Adam Hadwin. Tony Finau, who set the tournament record by shooting 26 under par in 2022, will also compete in the 2025 tournament. Finau is second cousins with former NBA player Jabari Parker and first cousins with former NFL player Haloti Ngata, who played for three seasons with the Detroit Lions from 2015-17. Tony Finau celebrates winning the Rocket Mortgage Classic at the Detroit Golf Club, Sunday, July 31, 2022. Nate Lashley, who won the tournament's inaugural event in 2019 by shooting 25 under par, also returns in the 2025 field. Lashley hit a hole-in-one during the first round last year, and finished 10 under par tied for 25th. Advertisement "We're excited to welcome back four outstanding champions — Cameron, Rickie, Tony and Nate — to the Rocket Classic this summer," Rocket Companies president Bill Emerson said in a statement. "Each of these players has left their mark on this tournament, and it's a privilege to see them return to Detroit." Rickie Fowler swings on hole 17 during the fourth round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club on Sunday, July 2, 2023. The 2025 Rocket Classic will take place from June 26-29 at Detroit Golf Club on Hamilton Road near the city's University District. Collin Morikawa, No. 4 ranked golfer in world, coming to Detroit for 2025 Rocket Classic

He wasn't around for the 2024 tournament, but Collin Morikawa will officially return to the 2025 Rocket Classic. The No. 4 ranked golfer in the world last played in the Rocket Classic in 2023, when he played in a playoff with Rickie Fowler and Adam Hadwin in the final round. Fowler's nearly 12-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole gave him the tournament win, with Morikawa and Hadwin tying for the second-place finish. Advertisement And now, Morikawa might end up the highest-ranking player in a Rocket Classic field that includes past champions Fowler, Tony Finau, Cam Davis and Nate Lashley: Davis won the 2024 Rocket Classic after Akshay Bhatia fell late from his tournament-long lead, while Finau set the tournament record shooting 26 under in 2022. Morikawa finished at 4-over-par at the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hallow, his worst performance of the 2025 calendar year. His best result came at the beginning of the year at the Sentry at Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii. He shot a 32 under, but finished second to Hideki Matsuyama (35 under).
