Wedbush Reiterates $270 Target on Apple (AAPL), Citing Hopes for AI Execution
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is one of the 10 best tech stocks to buy according to billionaires right now. On June 10, following Apple's keynote at the 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives reaffirmed his Outperform rating on the stock, along with a $270 price target. In his post-event note, Ives noted that while the presentation outlined Apple's vision for the developer ecosystem, it offered limited new detail on the company's artificial intelligence initiatives, an area where Apple appears to be moving cautiously, likely in response to last year's strategic missteps. A wide view of an Apple store, showing the range of products the company offers. Notably, at the WWDC 2024, the company had given an ambitious roadmap to its Apple Intelligence and a transformation for smart AI assistant, Siri. However, the execution over these plans has lagged and the company's AI strategy has been under scrutiny. Fast forwarding to now, Ives believes Apple's measured approach is understandable, but 2025 could be a critical year for the company to begin monetizing its AI efforts more visibly. He suggested that if internal development does not accelerate, the company may need to explore larger-scale AI acquisitions to strengthen its positioning in the space. Although Apple may be seen as entering the AI race later than peers, Ives acknowledged that the company has begun laying the groundwork for a longer-term strategy. In his view, WWDC marked the start of Apple's multi-year AI roadmap, with initial steps that could shape its direction through 2026 and beyond. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) designs, manufactures, and markets innovative products, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac computers, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. The company also offers a range of software and services, such as the iOS and macOS operating systems, iCloud, advertising, payment services, Apple Music, and the App Store. While we acknowledge the potential of AAPL as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. Apple CarPlay iOS 26 update: New widgets, live actions and 'Liquid Glass' design
Apple CarPlay iOS 26 update: New widgets, live actions and 'Liquid Glass' design Hot on the heels of its introduction of CarPlay Ultra, Apple announced new upgrades to standard CarPlay last week at its 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference. In addition to a fresh look, the update via iOS 26 brings features like Widgets and Live Actions to CarPlay while making old standbys like calls and messaging less intrusive. Apple CarPlay's new features The biggest functional changes are the introduction of Widgets and Live Actions in CarPlay. Widgets were already introduced in CarPlay Ultra and are now available in standard CarPlay. They can be accessed by swiping right from the CarPlay home screen. So far, they include weather, calendars, clocks, smart home devices and reminders, though more will be added in the future. They're organized into two columns so you can have two Widgets showing at once. Latest automotive technology: The coolest, most useful Apple CarPlay Ultra features Live Actions, which on your phone allow you to see things like live sports scores, food delivery progress, flight progress and more on the lock screen, have now been added to CarPlay as well. This way, you not only won't have to open your phone to get updates, you won't even have to look at it as you can pin them on your CarPlay home screen and they'll continue to be updated in real time so you don't miss any changes. Unlike CarPlay Ultra, standard CarPlay doesn't take over any other screens in the vehicle and doesn't gain the ability to change vehicle functions like the radio or climate control. Less intrusive calls and messages Getting a call or text message while running CarPlay can be a bit frustrating. Incoming calls take over almost the entire screen, while messages can only be verbally responded to, not reacted to. iOS 26 fixes both issues. Calls now appear as a small pop-up with the caller's ID and the options to answer or hang up and block as little of the screen as possible so you don't miss a turn. Apple iPhone support: Jeep, Chrysler and Ram will still have CarPlay, Android Auto as GM brands will phase out Messages pop-ups now also display default reaction emojis you can tap rather than dictating a response. You also now have the ability to pin messages or group chats to the top so they're easy to find in CarPlay. New look Both CarPlay and CarPlay Ultra get a new look as part of the larger iOS 26 update. Apple is calling the new design language 'Liquid Glass' and it features new colors for both apps and wallpapers, more dramatically rounded edges on app icons, and slightly updated icons. There also appears to be a new dark mode, as well. Photos by manufacturer
