Nicola Roberts wows fans as she makes surprise appearance on stage at Scissors Sisters gig in Manchester

Nicola Roberts sent fans into frenzy when she made an unexpected appearance on stage with Scissors Sisters in Manchester on Thursday. The Girls Aloud singer, 39, looked ravishing in a fuchsia draped maxi gown as she stunned the crowd while performing alongside the legendary noughties band. The English star took to her Instagram page with a dazzling carousel of snaps from the vibrant gig, saying it was a 'honour' performing with them and branding it 'a stunning dream'. Nicola looked on cloud nine on stage of the Co-Op Live Arena, showing off a glimpse of her toned legs as the glamorous maxi dress featured a racy thigh-high split. She added a belt while completing the show-stopping outfit with metallic silver knee boots. Paying a huge tribute to the iconic pop group on their 20th anniversary reunion tour, Nicola performed bangers Take Your Mama and Freedom with them. The Biology singer captioned her recent Instagram post: 'I felt like dancing ✨ Thank you for asking me to perform with you last night in Manchester. 'Such an honour. I've known the boys for a long time and so to get to sing with them was a stunning dream even though my little legs could barely keep up with you Jakey. 'The show is incredible. Congrats to the whole team for such a fantastic show and tour. What a night it was ❤️.' Scissors Sisters' iconic performance with Nicola comes a few months after the noughties band made headlines after being announced to perform at Glastonbury Festival this year. The pop band marked the 20th anniversary of their debut album Scissor Sisters, one of the UK's 40 best-sellers of all time, last year. In October, they delighted fans when they announced they would be heading back out on tour together - albeit now as a three piece. Their reunion announcement came with a catch as it was revealed Ana Matronix, Paddy Boom and Randy Real would not be joining former bandmates Jake Shears, Babydaddy and Del Marquis. Earlier in March, it was revealed they will be adding Glastonbury to their list of dates as they will be performing on Saturday June 28 at Worthy Farm. Scissor Sisters looked unrecognisable compared to their earlier days in a promo shot for their Glastonbury slot, with Jake swapping his ginger locks for a platinum blonde 'do. 'Glastonbury… where it all began,' they captioned their announcement. 'Your Scissters are comin' home—see you in the fields.' Fans were ecstatic to hear the band would be performing at the festival - however those without tickets held out hope for resale. They commented on Instagram: 'Of course on a year when I didn't get tickets... Resale it is...,'; 'I don't have a ticket, please resale day be kind,'; 'Will be there!!!! ❤️,'; 'A MOMENT,'; 'omg I need to be there ❤️❤️❤️,'; 'WOW!!!! now this is exciting!!!!!' Scissor Sisters will play the Saturday which is set to be headlined by Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts with performances from Charlie XCX, RAYE and Doechii. The band plan to perform every single track from the album on their upcoming tour, as well as highlights from their three subsequent albums, 2006's Ta-Dah, 2010's Night Work and 2012's Magic Hour. It comes after Ana Matronic revealed why she has decided not to join her Scissor Sisters bandmates on their 20th anniversary reunion tour. The group have confirmed they're reuniting for a string of shows in 2025 to celebrate two decades since the release of their debut album. The beloved Noughties band, best known for their hit track I Don't Feel Like Dancing, will perform 10 concerts at venues across the UK, including Glasgow, Cardiff, London and Manchester. But Ana, 50, has confirmed she will not be joining her bandmates Jake Shears, Babydaddy and Del Marquis. In a statement, Ana explained her 'nerd self' is driving her career at the moment and she is prioritising finishing a history podcast which has developed into long-term research and writing projects. She said: 'People familiar with my story and career arc will know that in the heart of this Showgirl lies a giant nerd. 'To those who have heard my between-song rants onstage about subjects from politics to pop culture, read my rants in print about robots, listened to my rants on the radio about music and history, it will come as no surprise to know that in the past decade my nerd self has taken the wheel and is driving my career at present. 'I am currently finishing production on the first season of my history podcast Good Time Sallies, which has widened into several long-term research & writing projects. 'With contracts signed and schedules solidified on these commitments, I am afraid the timing of a Scissor reunion does not allow me to join them on this tour. 'I wish the band and our fans all the best—I will be there in spirit to kiki with you!' Jake Shears said of Ana's absence: 'I think it just didn't line up. It's not something that she wanted to do at this moment in time. 'And I didn't want that to keep us from coming out and playing these songs.' Del Marquis added: 'We've spent a lot of time collectively thinking about what we can add to our show that isn't a 'replacement' for Ana in any way.

Chaotic scenes erupt as Aussie shoppers flock to grab ‘must-have' Aldi Special Buys ski range

Chaotic scenes have erupted as shoppers race to get their hands on Aldi's highly-anticipated Special Buys range hitting the shelves for a limited time. Footage from a store in Chatswood captures shoppers queuing up before opening hours, ahead of the grocery giant's Snow Gear sale on Saturday. Shoppers are seen streaming through the entrance, some holding back an urge to sprint. In other scenes, they rifle through piles of ski jackets searching for their sizes. Although it looks like the aisles are well stocked now, they may not last long with the amount of people seen to be flooding to the stores. Aldi's annual snow sale event is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and purchases promise to be worth the massive crowds and long lines. The popular retailer has launched a premium range describing it as their 'coolest collection' to date, with more than 65 products under $100. 'We know our Aussie customers look forward to our annual Snow Gear Special Buys sale, and we're blown away by the overwhelming response by shoppers every year who line up before the store opens to get their hands on the range,' an Aldi spokesperson said. 'The momentum we have seen over the last 20 years is reflective of the high quality and low price point Aldi's Snow Gear presents. 'Our customers continue to be excited about the release of the range each year, and we look forward to being part of their snow holiday plans with top quality gear at low prices in 2025.' Outerwear is waterproof up to 12,000mm, breathable, and base layers are made from Merino. Adults can be kitted out for around $264, and kids for around $182.90. Outerwear starts from $59,99 for adults, snow suits for kids start at $39.99, while snow jackets and pants for older kids can be purchased for under $70. Last year's most popular items that are back again this year include the Adult's Merino Tank or Women's Camisole, returning at the same price of $19.99. 'We're excited to share the coolest collection we've had since it first hit our shelves over 20 years ago,' the spokesperson said. 'While comfort and durability is always a top priority, we've made this year's range fashion-forward too. Looking at trends and keeping a close eye on the slopes, we've introduced styles that not only perform but also turn heads.' The retailer works with partners across the globe 'who are experts in snow gear innovation to create premium apparel at affordable prices across every layer'. 'This year's range showcases high performing fabrics, smart design features that are built to weather every moment, and were rigorously tested on the snowfields of Japan,' the spokesperson said.
