Eagle eyed Buffy fans notice piece of the show's history in Galway
Eagle eyed Buffy fans have noticed that a piece of the show's history actually resides in Galway. Longstanding viewers of the hit show will know that the moment where Angel (played by American actor David Boreanaz) is turned into a vampire by Darla (played by Julie Benz) takes place in Galway back in 1753. Angel was originally named Liam and was born in the city of the Tribes in 1727. Eagle eyed Buffy fans have noticed that a piece of the show's history actually resides in Galway. The memorial reads: 'On this site in April 1753 Liam O'Malley was bitten by a vampire and went on to become the most feared monster in all of Europe. 'He later changed his name to Angel and found fame in the 1997 hit TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and his own spin-off show.' The plaque is reportedly situated on the walkway right across the street from the Latin Quarters in the city centre. While many fans were quick to laugh off the hilarious memorial, others questioned the validity of the plaque. That being said, looks like we're making a trip to Galway to hunt some vampires.
