Vishnu Manchu Makes SHOCKING Claim, Says Brother Manoj's Staff Stole Kannappa Hard Disk
Last Updated: Vishnu Manchu claims his brother Manoj's staff is linked to the stolen 'Kannappa' hard disk. Tensions within the Manchu family have spilled into the spotlight once again as actor-producer Vishnu Manchu made a shocking claim involving his brother, actor Manoj Manchu. Speaking at a press meet in Chennai on Friday, Vishnu alleged that two individuals accused of stealing a hard disk containing crucial VFX footage from his upcoming film Kannappa are linked to his brother Manoj. According to Vishnu, the suspects—Raghu and Charitha—work for Manoj, though he clarified that he isn't sure whether they acted under Manoj's direct orders. 'We don't know if they stole it or acted upon someone's orders," he said. 'It was after these attempts we filed a police complaint." Vishnu explained that Kannappa's visual effects work is underway in multiple cities including Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Dubai, and London. He detailed the incident, saying, 'When the VFX-related hard disk was sent from Mumbai, it reached my father Mohan Babu's residence in Film Nagar. It's the norm. We are three siblings and all our packages arrive there, and our respective managers would go collect it. Similarly, the hard disk arrived at our dad's residence. It was handed over to Raghu and Charitha, and they have been missing since then." The dispute is only the latest in a long-brewing rift between the Manchu brothers. Manoj has reportedly been estranged from the family and no longer stays at their father's Film Nagar home. Despite the setback, Vishnu reassured fans that the stolen hard disk is secure. '99 per cent, you cannot crack the password, there is one per cent chance though. Even if they manage to leak the footage, I urge everyone not to watch the leaked footage. A lot of hard work has gone into the film," he said. The alleged theft occurred in Hyderabad's Film Nagar, just weeks ahead of the film's expected release. A statement released earlier by Vishnu's team hinted at deeper issues, referring to 'sabotage and personal vendetta" as possible motives. An FIR filed with the Hyderabad police also backs Vishnu's version of events. As per the complaint, the footage was couriered on March 23 by a VFX vendor in Mumbai to the production office of 24 Frames Factory, Vishnu's banner. It was received by one staff member, then reportedly handed off to another, who is now missing. 'The hard drive was taken without any authorisation and with malicious and deliberate intent," the FIR reads. The film is releasing on June 27. At a media interaction in Chennai on Friday, Vishnu stated that the two accused, Raghu and Charitha, who allegedly stole the hard disk, are employed by his brother Manoj. However, he added that he isn't certain whether Raghu acted on Manoj's instructions. While answering questions about Kannappa's stolen hard disk at the promotional event of the film, Vishnu said that the VFX work is going on Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Dubai and London. 'When the VFX-related hard disk was sent from Mumbai, it reached my father Mohan Babu's residence in Film Nagar. It's the norm. It was handed over to Raghu and Charitha, and they have been missing since then,' he elaborated. The actor added, 'You all know what happened within our family. We tried to reach Manoj through our friends, but to no avail. We don't know if they stole it or acted upon someone's orders. It was after these attempts we filed a police complaint.' Did Vishnu Manchu accuse his brother Manoj of stealing Kannappa's hard disk? Here's what he said
Actor Vishnu Manchu has spoken about the stolen hard disk of his upcoming film Kannappa, which contains highly sensitive content. As quoted by Vishnu said that he "suspects" accused Raghu, who reportedly stole it, is employed by his brother Manchu Manoj. He, however, added that he "isn't sure if Raghu stole the hard disk at the behest of" Manoj. (Also Read | Vishnu Manchu's production house claims 'vendetta' behind stolen Kannappa hard drive: 'No secret who orchestrated this') Speaking at an event while promoting Kannappa in Chennai on Friday, Vishnu alleged that Raghu and Charitha, who allegedly stole the disk, are part of Manoj's staff. 'In case the culprits manage to leak the footage, I urge everyone not to watch the leaked content. About 70 minutes of colour-graded footage that was sent from a Mumbai facility to our father's Film Nagar residence was stolen by Raghu more than a month ago." "I suspect Raghu is employed by my brother, Manchu Manoj. But I'm not sure if Raghu stole the hard disk on my brother's command,' Vishnu added. He also said that the hard disk is password protected and 'it's very difficult to crack'. A case was registered against two persons in Hyderabad following a complaint accusing them of the "unauthorised" possession of a hard drive containing highly sensitive content related to the upcoming movie Kannappa, news agency PTI reported, citing the police. 24 Frames Factory, a content development company, said in a post on X recently that a hard drive containing a pivotal action sequence between two lead characters of Kannappa, along with critical VFX work, was "stolen" during transit. It further claimed these individuals are planning to leak over 90 minutes of unreleased footage online in a desperate attempt to derail the release of Kannappa. Based on the complaint filed by an executive producer of 24 Frames Factory, a case was registered under section 316(2) (criminal breach of trust) of the BNS at Filmnagar Police Station on May 25, and further investigation is ongoing, a police official said. The complainant stated that one of their VFX vendors based in Mumbai had dispatched the hard drive containing crucial data to their company's office address in Filmnagar through courier. As per the courier agency's records, the parcel was delivered on March 25 to an office boy, Raghu. Upon verification, it was found that the office boy handed over the hard drive to a woman, Charitha. The hard drive was taken by the woman without any authorisation or intimation to the company, with "malicious and deliberate" intent, which amounts to unauthorised possession and criminal breach of trust, the complainant alleged. A team member contacted her, but she has since been evasive and uncooperative, he said. The film starring Vishnu in the lead role is scheduled for release on June 27. The mythological epic narrates the story of the titular legendary devotee of Lord Shiva. Kannappa is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by Manchu's banners, AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory. (With PTI inputs)
