KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam have reaffirmed their commitment to resolving longstanding issues outlined in the 2009 Exchange of Letters (EOL), particularly those concerning land and maritime boundaries. This was a key outcome of the 26th Meeting of the Implementation of the Exchange of Letters between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam (EOL-26), according to a statement from Malaysia's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday. The meeting was co-chaired by Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and Brunei's Minister of Foreign Affairs II, Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof. During the session, both ministers exchanged views on further enhancing economic cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries. The visit underscored the longstanding and special relationship between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam and laid the groundwork for the 26th Annual Leaders' Consultation, which Malaysia will host next month.
