Zambia welcomes 26th Chinese medical team
LUSAKA, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Zambia held an orientation ceremony on Tuesday for the 26th Chinese Medical Team, with government officials expressing appreciation for the continued support from Chinese doctors in strengthening the country's healthcare services.
Addressing the event, Permanent Secretary for Donor Coordination at the Ministry of Health George Sinyangwe praised the longstanding cooperation between Zambia and China in the health sector.
He said Chinese medical teams have made significant contributions through clinical care, complex surgeries, and the management of critical cases, helping to save lives and build local capacity.
"Your presence here is not taken for granted; it is deeply cherished. You bring with you not only advanced skills and expertise but also fresh perspectives, innovative techniques, and a wealth of experience that enrich our healthcare system," he added.
Sinyangwe also paid tribute to the 25th Chinese Medical Team for their service and dedication, acknowledging their positive impact across multiple health facilities in the country.
He commended the crew for upholding the noble ideals of the medical profession and for strengthening international friendship.
