2nd & Charles to hold Penny-a-Page sale

HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) –The bookstore 2nd & Charles will hold its Penny-a-Page sale next week. The sale is on March 29. During this promotion, members of the store's free rewards program can buy up to five used books for the cost of one penny per page number. For example, a 500-page used book could be purchased for $5. Store locations in Alabama include Hoover, Oxford, Madison and Dothan. Birmingham Public Library hosting nearly 70 events for students and families on spring break According to the 2nd & Charles website, the promotion excludes boxed sets, rare books, books without page numbers, books over $50, books included with 'Blind Date with a Book,' journals, comics, audio books and mini gift books. CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA (WHTM) — This past week in the Midstate, we got an update on the new Raising Canes eatery that is under construction, 2nd & Charles announced their relocation plans, and a new restaurant announced its upcoming opening in downtown Gettysburg. Earlier this week, Raising Canes shared they are ahead of schedule, and instead of an anticipated 2026 opening, they now plan to open in Harrisburg later this year, at some point in the spring or summer. The new restaurant will be 3,089 square feet in size and will feature two drive-thru lanes. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox. Subscribe Now The 2nd & Charles store, which is currently still situated at the Harrisburg Mall, announced they will be relocating at some point next month. The popular store is going to be moving into the former Toys 'R Us building on 3405 Paxton Street. This new all-day eatery will soon be replacing the former Federal Pointe Grill on 90 Buford Avenue in downtown Gettysburg. The new Heartland Diner will occupy a 5,600-square-foot space with seating available for 165 guests. They plan on making their debut in late March 2025.
