Sultan Nazrin attends Warriors' Day 2025 in Perak
IPOH: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, attended the state-level Warriors' Day Celebration 2025 at Dataran Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan. The event was also graced by the Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, and the Raja Di Hilir of Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah. His Royal Highness arrived at 9 am and was welcomed by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, Western Fleet Commander Rear Admiral Datuk Pahlawan Abdul Halim Shaari, Perak police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin, and Commander of the 2nd Infantry Brigade Brigadier General Mohamad Rosli Abu Bakar. The ceremony began with the Perak state anthem, followed by Sultan Nazrin inspecting the main guard of honour. The guard consisted of three senior police officers and 102 personnel, led by Superintendent Mohd Aster Mohamad and Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Auzan Mohd Noor. The parade featured 408 personnel from various security forces, including Malaysian Armed Forces veterans and retired police officers. After the inspection, the 'Last Post' was played, and the Jalur Gemilang was lowered. A prayer was recited by Inspector Adib Azimat, followed by a poetry recital titled 'Darah Perwira Di Tanah Merdeka' by Lieutenant Hadzeri Julai and Corporal Nurul Syuhada Azmi. The ceremony concluded with 'The Rouse,' the raising of the Jalur Gemilang, and another rendition of the Perak state anthem. The ceremony began with the singing of the Perak state anthem, followed by an inspection of the guard of honour by Sultan Nazrin. The guard of honour was composed of three senior officers and 102 policemen led by Superintendent Mohd Aster Mohamad and assisted by Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Auzan Mohd Noor. Following the inspection, the Last Post was played, and the national flag was ceremoniously lowered. The event continued with a prayer recitation by Inspector Adib Azimat, followed by a poem entitled "The Blood of a Warrior on the Land of Freedom," jointly recited by Lieutenant Hadzeri Julai from the 503rd Regiment of the Territorial Army and Corporal Nurul Syuhada Azmi from the Perak contingent police headquarters. After the recital, the Rouse was played, and the national flag was raised once again. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the Perak anthem before the guard-of-honour exited the parade grounds. Sultan Nazrin then attended a reception at the Banquet Hall before departing. The musical accompaniment during the ceremony was provided by the KD Pelandok Brass Band, comprising 45 members under the leadership of Lieutenant Muhamad Ali Rajaie Nor Mohamed from the Royal Malaysian Navy. Honouring National Heroes every year on July 31, the nation observes Warriors' Day to honour fallen soldiers and security personnel, as well as those who have made significant contributions to the independence and security of Malaysia. This annual celebration serves as a solemn reminder of their service and sacrifice in defending the peace and sovereignty of the nation. Historically, July 31, 1960, marked the official end of the Emergency in Malaya. The date was subsequently declared as Warriors' Day, providing all Malaysians with an opportunity to express gratitude for the peace the country enjoys today, which has enabled Malaysia to develop and prosper, free from the threats posed by hostile external elements.

The ceremony started with the singing of the Perak anthem, followed by the inspection of a guard-of-honour by Sultan Nazrin which consisted of three police officers and 102 members of other ranks. The guard-of-honour was led by Supt Mohd Aster Mohamad, assisted by Deputy Supt Ahmad Auzan Mohd Noor. The flag bearer (pegawai pembawa panji- panji) was Insp Mohd Nor Syahid Shaharum. A total of 408 participants made up the ceremonial detachment, comprising officers and members of various security forces, along with Malaysian Armed Forces veterans and retired Royal Malaysia Police personnel. The KD Pelandok brass band, consisting of 45 members led by Lieutenant Muhamad Ali Rajaie Nor Mohamed of the Royal Malaysian Navy, was a musical accompaniment for the ceremony. Since then, July 31 has been declared Warriors' Day in Malaysia.
