Edgemont's Earth Day event brightens Dayton Urban Farm

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Edgemont celebrated Earth Day by hosting 'Operation Clean & Cultivate Community' at the Dayton Urban Community Farm on Tuesday. The event was held from noon to 4 p.m. at 933 Xenia Avenue. Volunteers were invited to launch a powerful community resource, the newest urban framing site. They aimed to cultivate the land and purpose within the Edgemont community. They were encouraged to wear comfy clothes, bring gloves and stay hydrated while gardening. Farmers market coming to downtown Dayton this summer

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — An outdoor farmers market will be open each weekend throughout harvest season in downtown. 2nd Street Market will offer an outdoor farmers market beginning May 3, with a grand opening celebration that Saturday. The market will run every weekend through late October. Local Academy-Award winner talks upcoming blockbuster The market will feature over 30 local vendors offering in-season produce, artisan wares, specialty foods and more. Shoppers can also check out the 50 permanent vendors inside of 2nd Street Market as well. The outdoor farmers market will be open during 2nd Street Market's normal hours of operation on the weekends: Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Also happening this summer, 2nd Street Market will offer special events on select Thursdays 2nd Street Market is located at 600 E.
