Battlefords RCMP looking for white truck after driver spotted pointing firearm
Battlefords RCMP are searching for a white truck driven by a suspect who pointed a gun at a homeowner. Police are currently searching near the RM of Roundhill, about 70 kilometres north east of North Battleford, near Range Road 3143, north of Highway 750. Police say that at approximately 11 a.m. on Sunday, the white truck drove by a property and a person inside it brandished the weapon. They say the truck appears to be an early 1990's Mazda B series, or an early 1990's Dodge Ram 50. The public is advised to not approach the vehicle if they see it. Instead they should call 310-RCMP or 911 to report the sighting. Police say if members of the public have information related to the case, they can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

'Eliminate confusion': Alberta RCMP launch non-emergency line
In an effort to cut down on unnecessary 911 calls, Alberta RCMP have launched a province-wide non-emergency line, 310-RCMP. The launch is designed to streamline the reporting process to help in the early parts of investigations, and ultimately reduce the number of calls to 911 that aren't needed. '310-RCMP was created to help eliminate confusion about which detachment someone should call if they experience a non-emergency that doesn't require police attendance,' said Chris Spence, director of the operational communications centre in Alberta in a release this week. 'We encourage people to report non-emergencies as this helps us focus frontline efforts on high-priority calls and deploy resources in areas that need it most.' After sexual assault, Sask. RCMP warn about 'informal' ridesharing services
Social Sharing Saskatchewan RCMP have issued a warning about informal ridesharing services after a sexual assault this week. Police say these informal services exist on social media groups to connect those needing a ride with those willing to drive. With the warning, police provided a few recommendations, including: Make sure you know and trust the person you are seeking a ride from. Let someone know when you are leaving and your expected arrival time. If you are getting a ride, consider providing information about the vehicle's make, colour and plate to someone you trust. If you are negotiating a ride and something feels off, trust your instinct and find an alternative method of travel. The warning comes after police say a woman was sexually assaulted after arranging for a ride in a Facebook group serving the Fort Qu'Appelle area, located 70 kilometres northeast of Regina. An adult man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. RCMP say the incident remains under investigation and if there are additional victims or a risk to public safety, they will provide identifying information about the accused. They are encouraging anyone to report information about this, or similar incidents, by calling 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers. In an emergency, they urge people to call 911.
