Warner Bros. and New Line have revealed a fun new promo spot for Final Destination: Bloodlines and it teases its killer 4DX immersive experience chairs. It introduces audiences to the 4DX Death Chair that can kill the person sitting in it in a variety of ways. It's all in good fun, though! The Chair won't really kill you! In the film, 'Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.' Stein ( Freaks ), who are directing from a script written by Lori Evans Taylor ( Wicked Wicked Games ) and Guy Busick ( Scream ), with Jon Watts ( Spider-Man: No Way Home ) producing. The cast includes Teo Briones ( Chucky ), Brec Bassinger ( Stargirl ), Kaitlyn Santa Juana ( The Friendship Game ), Richard Harmon ( Grave Encounters 2 ), Anna Lore, Owen Patrick Joyner, Max Lloyd-Jones ( The Book Of Boba Fett ), Rya Kihlstedt ( Obi Wan Kenobi), and Tinpo Lee ( The Manor ). There are 6 movie theaters in the world that offer HDR by Barco. This San Francisco theater is one
Premium formats in Bay Area movie theaters HDR by Barco, a High Dynamic Range system at the Alamo Drafthouse New Mission, is the latest premium large format (PLF) designed to draw audiences back into movie theaters. The following is a list of a few other premium formats: IMAX/IMAX 3D: Founded in 1970, the format is noted for its large screens and stadium seating. The AMC Metreon 16's IMAX is 76 feet tall by 98 feet wide, while the Regal Hacienda Crossings screen in Dublin is 55-by-76. However, the format also features a higher resolution, so many screens in the Bay Area listed as IMAX, such as at Century 20 Daly City, are standard sized. 4DX/D-Box: Both are motion-seat technologies that immerse moviegoers into a film through jolting or floating seats, turning, say, an action film into a thrill ride. Developed by South Korea's CJ, 4DX is featured at Regal Stonestown in San Francisco and Regal Hacienda Crossings and also features spritzes of water, bursts of wind and scents timed with the action on the movie screen. D-Box, a Canadian company which emphasizes the relationship between sound and movement, is used in many Cinemark theaters. Dolby Vision/Cinemark XD/Regal RPG: Like HDR by Barco, these various formats feature brighter colors, deeper blacks, higher quality digital projection and immersive surround sound. RealD 3D: The digital stereoscopic projection technology is the most widely used for 3D presentations. ScreenX: Perhaps inspired by the old Cinerama process, which created a curved effect by synchronizing three 35mm projectors, ScreenX extends the screen on either side to 270 degrees so that the screen appears to wrap around your head. Like 4DX, it was developed by CJ. 70mm film: With a resolution 3½ times greater than traditional 35mm film, this format — which dates to the early days of cinema — gained popularity in the 1950s as movie theaters began competing with television. Seeing a film in 70mm is still a treat: 'Sinners' has been selling out in the format at Oakland's Grand Lake Theatre. Other Bay Area venues with 70mm projectors include the Alamo Drafthouse New Mission, and 70mm IMAX is available at the AMC Metreon and Regal Hacienda Crossings. 35mm film: What was once the industry standard until about 2010 is now a specialty format, with cinephiles gravitating to retrospective screenings. First-run theaters with 35mm projectors include the Roxie, Balboa and Alamo Drafthouse in San Francisco, the Grand Lake Theatre in Oakland, and several museum and retro arthouses.

OMA Cinema, IMAX, And Vox Cinema Collaboration Opens In Dubai
The Oma designed IMAX Vox Cinema theater in Dubai features dual laser projection, 12-channel sounds ... More and seven booths. A couple of weeks back, Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith was released into cinemas for a limited run to celebrate its 20th anniversary. I went along to see it in 4DX format, which involves seats that move in sync with the on-screen action, along with other effects such as flashing lights, air blasts, and kicks in the back. It was fab! Being tipped forward and back in my seat as Obi-Wan says his classic 'another happy landing' line was every bit as much fun as I had hoped. Revenge of the Sith shows us the Galactic Senate, first introduced on screen in Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace and also making regular appearances on our TVs right now in the superb second series of Andor on Disney+. Some years ago, I wrote about Oma Cinema, a French company that was looking to create an entirely new cinema experience with a bold new design. Everyone who saw the pictures immediately noted the similarity to the Galactic Senate in Star Wars, but when I put this to the co-founder in an interview, he claimed, much to my surprise, that this wasn't deliberate and that no one had noticed the resemblance. I admit that I hadn't realised that Oma Cinema had made good on its promises and, just a few weeks ago, it opened a theater in Dubai. A refurbishment of an existing IMAX theater, this is a collaboration between the local Vox Cinema chain and IMAX. Equipped with a dual-laser IMAX laser projector and a 12-channel sound system, the room has a total of 255 seats. Patrons get to enjoy the company of four others in each of the booths. As you can see in the image, the Galactic Senate vibes are strong with this design, and while somewhat disappointingly they don't float and move, the seven circular pods offer five seats for a more intimate viewing experience with friends or family. All the seats in the room also offer large recliners and trays for food and snacks. While I admit food in the cinema is not something I feel I need, I do admit that more legroom would be nice, especially with the long running times of many films. In the designs I saw all those years ago, the pods were noticeably close to the screen, but in the Dubai theater they are at the back. The screen in this Vox theater is 23m wide by 12.3m high, so not huge compared to the 19.8m high screen in the BFI IMAX. As such, I do wonder if you'd be sacrificing visual impact for comfort and some snacks. Still, as they are in different parts of the world, it's hardly an either/or scenario. As a refurbishment, the projection room and screen had to remain in their original positions, so, evidently, this is something of a real-world compromise. While a trip to Dubai isn't on my immediate agenda, should I ever find myself there, I'd certainly want to try it out. I'd also be keen to see what an OMA Cinema/IMAX cinema built from the ground up would look like — I'm sure it would be out of this world.

ScreenX and 4DX theaters to expand across US, Europe
Multiple panoramic screens, as well as motion chair-equipped cinematic experience to be available at more locations More ScreenX and 4DX theaters, which offer enhanced viewing experiences through changes in film projection formats and motion effects, will be coming to the US and Europe starting this summer. According to CJ 4D Plex, a subsidiary of CJ CGV, 25 ScreenX theaters and 40 4DX theaters will open across the US and Europe. CJ 4D Plex currently operates 1,211 special screening theaters, including 4DX and ScreenX, in 74 countries. The expansion is the result of a business partnership between CJ 4D Plex and AMC Entertainment, a US movie theater chain considered to be the world's largest. AMC Entertainment currently operates approximately 10,000 screens across 900 theaters worldwide. ScreenX theaters allow viewers to experience films on three sides of the theater — the front, left, and right walls — or even four sides, including the ceiling. Meanwhile, 4DX theaters integrate motion chairs and environmental effects, enabling seats to move, wind to blow, and scents to be released in sync with movie scenes. Bang Jun-sik, CEO of CJ 4D Plex, stated, "This agreement demonstrates the rapidly growing global popularity of ScreenX and 4DX." He added, "It is a confirmation that the film industry continues to innovate and provide audiences with differentiated entertainment experiences."
