Heritage Classic Foundation raises nearly $4 million for charities
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — The Heritage Classic Foundation announced that it raised nearly $4 million for their charitable pillars, thanks to a successful RBC Heritage.
The Heritage Classic Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that hosting the world-class PGA TOUR event.
'The RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing raises funds for educational and charitable initiatives to enhance the quality of life in South Carolina,' a spokesperson said.
They broke a record in 2024 and raised $3,993,000 million. These funds were distributed into their six charitable giving pillars.
Arts and culture, which supports local museums, interpretive centers, and visual and performing arts, received $685,200. Early education and youth enrichment programs received $942,500.
The foundation donated $248,000 to education through donations to local colleges and technical programs.
They also donated $213,900 to organizations focused on protecting and preventing ecological impact and restoring and assisting after events.
Health and welfare received a large $1.71 million in donations going towards food, safe housing and quality healthcare.
Nearly $200,000 was donated to scholarships for South Carolina students. They also donated to groups such as the Bluffton High School football team, who dedicated their spring break to helping pick up trash and recyclables, a spokesperson said.
The nearly $4 million collected and distributed in 2024 brings the Heritage Classic Foundation to $56.9 million raised since it was created in 1987.
