Primetime 585 Shining Star: Marley Siembor
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — For our Primetime 585 Shining Star spotlight, we're highlighting Marley Siembor! Marley is a junior at Eastridge High School. She excels on the volleyball court and softball field. For volleyball, she has been the starting setter for the last two years and was chosen as the team MVP. In softball, she has been the teams starting first basemen and won the 'Most Improved Award' for Eastridge last season. Thursday night, she helped her team, who was down in the 6th inning, beat Mercy! Marley is looking into studying early childhood development at colleges such as Canisius, St. John Fisher and Syracuse. Primetime 585 Shining Star: Brody Burgess
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Our Primetime 585 Shining Star features students who impact their community through sport. Victor student Brody Burgess is our Wednesday Shining Star. Burgess is a senior at Victor High School who has played golf for six years at the varsity level. He was selected for the All-Greater Rochester Boys Golf team for three consecutive years in 2022, 2023, and 2024. In 2023, he also received the title of All-Greater Rochester Golf Player of the Year. Burgess has also made three state championship appearances. In 2022, he placed T-8th in All-State Selection. He then placed 2nd in 2023 and 4th in 2024. He also participated in the High School Federations all three years. He has previously held records for the 18-hole Victor Golf Record 67 at a state tournament at the Mark Twain Golf Course. He is tied with 2019 graduate Jeremy Summerson for the Victor Golf Season Scoring Record of 36.3 for his 2023 performance. While playing for the Victor Golf Varsity team, Burgess has gone to 3 Team Sectional Championships in 2021, 2022, and 2024. In 2023, he participated in the match for the Section V 9-hole team record of 177 at Mendon Golf Course. He also participated in the match, gaining the Section V 18-hole team record of 357 at Ravenwood Golf Course. He was recognized in 2024 as News 8's Primetime 585 Golfer of the Year. On Tuesday night, Burgess held a 9-hole Victor golf record 30 (-6) at the Monroe Golf Club. This score is considered a Section V best. Burgess has signed to play Division 1 Golf at West Virginia University. Primetime 585 and News 8 would like to congratulate Brody on his accomplishments and future endeavors! Primetime 585 Shining Star: Rhoan Kaulder
ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – Our Wednesday Primetime 585 Shining Star puts the spotlight on Rhoan Kaulder, a junior at McQuaid Jesuit High School! This young track star was thrown into the limelight at a young age, and his talent truly speaks for itself. He started his track career at age 6. Provided: Primetime 585 By 7 years old, Kaulder was competing in USATF Jr. Olympics where he was All-American, coming in 7th in the 100-meter dash. He set records in this event, and at this same age, he found himself doing quite well in the long jump and began competing in his first field event. Through his discovery, he eventually began expanding his talents, running indoors at the Ocean Breeze under the same circuit, USATF. Throughout his track career, he managed to maintain his All-American status and has gotten onto the podium in 1st-8th places for his sprints and long jump, including just last summer during the Jr. Olympic meet. He was All-American in both the 100-meter and long jump events. In 8th grade, he became the first ever in the history of Section V and New York State to win a State Championship at his age, winning the long jump in 2022 with a leap of 22'10, setting an 8th grade state record. He has been in All State competitions from eighth grade forward, and has made All Greater Rochester first team for every year in track and field from eighth grade on. He always makes it to the national meets for both indoor and outdoor track at New Balance, and has been invited to many high-profile track and field meets, including the Virginia Showcase, Penn Relays, The Loucks Games, and more. This past weekend he won States for the 55m with a time of 6.35s, tying his season best. Primetime 585 Shining Star: Treasure Chambers
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – It's time for our Primetime 585 Shining Star spotlight where we introduce you to some student athletes who are brightening up our community! Today we are highlighting Treasure Chambers! Treasure runs indoor track for East Rochester. She holds the school records in 55 meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump. She is also a Wayne County Finger Lakes League Champion in 55 hurdles, long jump, triple jump and more. On top of all that, she is an accomplished gymnast as well and has a 4.0 GPA! Primetime 585 Shining Star: Elisa Bodin
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Our Wednesday Primetime 585 Shining Star this week puts the spotlight on Elisa Bodin, a 15-year-old Sophomore at Hornell High School with an impressive resume. Elisa, an elite competitive cheerleader, is also quite the leader when it comes to Hornell's Indoor Track Team, taking on the role of co-captain for the Sectional-winning 2024-2025 team. She won individually in the 1500m race, and helped her 4×800 relay team come out on top as well. She's been running with the Hornell Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track and Field teams since 7th grade, winning Sectional patches for cross country, and qualifying to compete at the Cross Country New York State Championships the last two seasons. This Friday, she's headed to the Indoor Track State Qualifiers for a 3rd time – and has gone to the Outdoor Track State Qualifiers for the last two seasons. Provided: Primetime 585 Outside of running, Elisa has a passion for cheer. She's been doing competitive All-Star Cheerleading with Diamond Athletics for the past seven years and is currently a flyer for the organization's Senior Co-ed Level 3 Team. Provided: Primetime 585 She's placed fourth in the nation twice in the past two seasons with her cheerleading team at the D2 Summit in Orlando, Florida. Provided: Primetime 585 As an avid cheerleader and track and field star – last weekend Elisa chose to be with both teams. She competed Saturday morning with her cheer team for their first round in Ocean City, Maryland, then flew back to Rochester that afternoon to compete in the Indoor Track Sectionals. She spent overnight Sunday in a car, driving back to Ocean City to compete with her team for round two early Sunday morning. A bonus: Both teams came out on top! Outside of athletics, Elisa consistently reaches Honor Roll status in her academics and is a member of the Hornell Academic All-Star team. Her family told Primetime 585 that Elisa intends to go to West Point Academy and study law.
