ONEUS just broke all the rules_with their wildest album yet and a sound that'll blow your mind
They're Not Here to Play: ONEUS Drops '5x' and Destroys Every K-pop Stereotype If you thought K-pop was all about catchy hooks and synchronized dance moves, ONEUS just threw a cosmic curveball your way. On June 30th, the five-member group dropped their 11th mini album '5x', and honestly, it's the kind of comeback that makes you want to throw your old playlists out the window. The title track 'X' is a full-on rebellion against the usual, blasting out with a funky bass riff that's got more attitude than your college WhatsApp group. Forget the typical melody lines-these guys use melodic instruments as just sources, making the whole thing sound fresh, risky, and totally next-level. And the visuals? Imagine a fashion film set in space, with the boys zooming through infinity, looking like they just walked out of a designer shoot. The music video is a wild ride, and the choreography (with help from Renan, the genius behind aespa's 'Whiplash') is so energetic it'll make you want to start your own dance crew in your hostel common room. Every Track Is a Mood-And They're All About Breaking Out '5x' isn't just about one song. The album packs five tracks, each with its own flavor-and the members had their hands in all of them. Here's the lowdown: 'LOVE ME or LOSER' : Dreamy, sharp, and all about feeling real love in the middle of loss. It's that late-night, overthinking vibe. 'RELOAD' : Pure tension, the kind that keeps your eyes glued to the screen. Think of it as the soundtrack to every exam week you've survived. 'BAD' : For those moments when you're stuck in a loop but still chasing what you want. We've all been there, right? 'TIME MACHINE (Korean Ver.)' : Refreshing and mysterious, this one's like a nostalgia trip back to your happiest memories-maybe those chai breaks after class or childhood cricket matches. '5x' Is More Than an Album-It's a Whole New Formula Here's where it gets deep: the album title '5x' isn't just random math. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo The '5' stands for the five members, and 'x' is the unknown variable-meaning anything is possible. ONEUS is basically saying, "We're not sticking to one answer or one style. We're limitless." It's a big mood for anyone who's ever felt boxed in by expectations, whether that's from family, society, or just the pressure to fit in. In a way, it's super relatable for young people everywhere-especially if you've ever been told you have to follow a certain path. ONEUS is out here smashing those boundaries, and encouraging everyone to start their own new story, no matter how unpredictable it is. When K-pop Feels Like Your Own Story There's something about this comeback that hits home, especially for young people juggling dreams, studies, and family expectations. ONEUS isn't just making music-they're making a statement about breaking free and finding your own formula. Sounds a lot like what every young person here wants, right? Whether you're hustling for a job, prepping for exams, or just trying to figure out who you are, '5x' is the kind of album that makes you feel seen. ONEUS's new era is proof that you don't have to stick to the script. Sometimes, the best stories are the ones you write yourself-even if you have no idea what's coming next.

Five months after the release of their previous album Dear.M, the group is gearing up to drop their 11th mini album. At midnight KST on June 10, the band unveiled a striking teaser across their official social media platforms, signalling the start of a new era. The logo motion video showcased the number 5, symbolising the five members, paired with a variable x, representing the title of their upcoming album, 5x. View this post on Instagram A post shared by 원어스 (ONEUS) (@official_oneus) ONEUS also revealed that 5x will feature a special track by member Seoho, recorded prior to his military enlistment. As announced via their official social media channels, the album is set to release on June 30 at 6 p.m. KST. This marks the group's return as a five-member act since Dear.M, which dropped in January this year. That album featured 17 tracks, including the title song IKUK and a new version of their Road to Kingdom finale track I Know You Know. In the months following, the members focused on solo projects, offering fans a glimpse into their distinct musical identities. Formed by RBW in 2018, ONEUS originally debuted as a six-member group comprising Seoho, Leedo, Keonhee, Hwanwoong, Xion, and Ravn. However, in October 2022, Ravn departed from the band, and ONEUS has since continued as a five-member act. The group made their official debut in January 2019 with the EP Light Us, and has since delivered a series of successful albums including Raise Us, Fly With Us, Lived, Blood Moon, Pygmalion, La Dolce Vita, Devil, Dopamine, and Dear.M. Their last major tour, ONEUS Japan 3rd Live: Blood Moon, followed the release of Blood Moon in 2021. With the announcement of their upcoming album 5x, fans are excited not just for the music, but also in the hopes of seeing their favourite group back on stage soon.
