Brooke Shields celebrates 60th birthday in bikini on the beach

Brooke Shields is proving age is just a number with new social media posts. The "Mother of the Bride" star took to Instagram over the weekend to celebrate her 60th birthday with photos of her lounging on the beach in her bikini. "Woke up today in paradise… and in a new decade of life! This is 6️⃣0️⃣! Thank you for all of the birthday love," she captioned the post. The photos featured Shields sitting in a hammock on the shore in a black bikini, which she accessorized with a sun hat and a chunky gold chain choker and sand-covered feet. Her famous friends quickly flooded the comments sections with well-wishes, with Christie Brinkley writing "Happy Birthday Beauty 60 looks GREAT on you," and Ricki Lake adding, "Yes Queen! Happy milestone Birthday!" In a separate Instagram post, shared on the account of her haircare brand, Commence, Shields spelled out "propaganda we're not falling for" anymore, writing in the caption, "We're not making any more time for nonsense." "That 60 means slowing down. That change is only for your twenties," the list written on the screen said. "That it's too late to learn something new. That my best days are in the rearview. That women 'of a certain age' aren't a force to be reckoned with. That I don't deserve products made specifically for me. That not every day can be a good hair day." "Woke up today in paradise… and in a new decade of life! This is 6️⃣0️⃣! Thank you for all of the birthday love." Shields is no stranger to sharing bikini photos. The star took to Instagram in April, to share photos from her time in the Bahamas, in which she posed on the beach in a black and white bikini. Having started her career at a young age, Shields has often spoken out about how difficult it was to grow up in the spotlight, telling AARP The Magazine in March 2024 she felt as if beauty "was a burden and a responsibility," but that now it "means freedom." "The 'Pretty Baby' documentary definitely empowered me," she explained. "I had never seen my life in its entirety. It made me feel very proud of my resilience and that little girl. I would be shocked as a kid to know that there would come a time that I would feel like I was enough. I would be shocked if I knew that I would one day really be confident and like myself." The 2023 documentary, "Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields," chronicled the actress' life as a sexualized young actress and model, "to a woman who embraces her identity and voice," according to the description on Hulu. When speaking with AARP The Magazine, she explained she has grown accustomed to hearing other people's opinions about her appearance, saying "it's an affront to people if Brooke Shields gets older." "You can't grow up, you cannot age. It's disappointing to them that I don't have the same face I had when I was 16," she said. "But it's been so liberating for me not to worry about it all the time. The pressure of being skinny is just so exhausting. I like food, and I like tequila!" She further discussed aging in Hollywood in her memoir, "Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old."

Brooke Shields celebrates 60th birthday with bikini shoot

Brooke Shields celebrated her 60th birthday in paradise. The Blue Lagoon actress took to Instagram Saturday to share photos of herself rocking a black bikini while lounging on a hammock on the beach. 'Woke up in Paradise … and in a new decade of life,' she captioned the post. 'This is 60! Thank you for all the birthday love.' Shields styled her beach day look with a wide-brimmed hat and choker necklace. The Hollywood star didn't disclose the tropical location where she was enjoying her milestone birthday. In honour of the big day, her haircare brand, Commence, also shared 'a non-exhaustive list' of 'propaganda' she refuses to believe as she gets older. 'That 60 means slowing down,' read text on an Instagram Reel of Shields at a photo shoot. 'That change is only for your twenties. That it's too late to learn something new. That my best days are in the rearview. 'That women 'of a certain age' aren't a force to be reckoned with. That I don't deserve products made specifically for me. That not every day can be a good hair day.' Shields got candid about ageing in a November 2023 interview with Glamour magazine, confessing she's afraid of certain cosmetic injectables. 'I'm scared of not looking like myself; the times that I've had Botox, I end up with this Spock eye and I'm like, 'I don't look like myself,'' she said at the time. 'But I'll get Fraxels, and peels, and whatever the newest thing is, and I'll try it. I just don't want to not look like myself.' But Shields has maintained her youthful glow; she stunned as she hit the beach in another bikini in April. At the time, the former model flaunted her figure while lying in the sand in the Bahamas wearing a black-and-white two-piece. The Mother of the Bride star went makeup-free, accessorising with a gold necklace and statement bracelets. This story originally appeared on Page Six

Brooke Shields shows off incredible bikini body on her milestone 60th birthday

Brooke Shields showed off her incredible bikini body as she rang in her milestone 60th birthday on Saturday. Over the weekend, the Blue Lagoon actress enjoyed a tropical getaway as she marked the special occasion with stunning Instagram photos. 'Woke up today in paradise... and in a new decade of life! This is 60! Thank you for all of the birthday love,' she wrote in her caption. The Pretty Baby star — who broke down in tears because of an unexpected surprise while celebrating her daughter Grier's 19th birthday last month — shared two photos of herself lounging in a woven hammock and basking in the sunshine. For her relaxing beach day, she wore a black string bikini and showcased her toned midriff as she posed for the cameras. Her dark brunette tresses appeared wet from taking a dip in the clear, blue water, and she sported a wide-brimmed, straw hat to dry off in the sun and catch some rays. One photo showed the silver screen star with the shore behind her and a second snapshot showed her leaning back, with her hair down, from behind. On the same day, her daughter, Rowan Henchy, also marked the occasion with a series of Instagram Story posts as a sweet birthday tribute. Alongside cute throwback photos of them together, Rowan, 22, referred to Shields as 'everyone's favorite girl boss.' Rowan also lauded her mama, gushing over her like many other family, friends and coworkers as Shields reposted on her Instagram Story. Her eldest daughter sweetly wrote alongside their photos: 'Happy birthday to my role model, partner in crime, and best friend. Thank you for always being my rock.' She concluded her tribute and added: 'Love you mama.' Shields shares Rowan as well as her daughter Grier with husband Chris Henchy. Earlier this year, months before her birthday, Shields excitedly anticipated turning 60 and shared her plans to celebrate her milestone. 'I'm going to do something special with a group of friends,' she said while onstage at the Flow Space Presents an Evening with Brooke Shields event in New York City in January. 'I have friends that I laugh like that with. I have my boozy friends, I have my granola friends. They each serve a different part of my soul and psyche.' Then, the actress said she wanted to continue celebrating the milestone even past her actual birthday. 'I'm going to try and take experiences that I really want to have and spend the time and the money on them,' she said. For the rest of the year, she said she would like to 'just celebrate the year of this big year that I'm walking through.'

Celebration honors Bishop Tyson on his 60th birthday

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) — A celebration was held Friday evening for the senior pastor of Youngstown's Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church. The celebration honored Bishop C. Shawn Tyson for his 60th birthday — and his 15th year as pastor of the church. He was joined by his wife, and first lady of the church, Krista Tyson. 275 people attended Waypoint 4180 in Canfield for the celebration. Bishop Tyson said when he started preaching 42 years ago, there was an emphasis on institutional religion but that's changed. 'But now people are focusing more on relationship and I believe this is the will of God and has always been. It does not indicate a lack of necessity for the church. But what people have come to realize is that I am the church. A building is not a church,' Bishop Tyson said. Bishop Tyson said five years ago, he was in 100 percent kidney failure. Now he's at 100 percent kidney function. He said that was a reason to party. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Linda Evangelista has very modest 60th birthday party... after not getting out of bed for less than $10K a day

Linda Evangelista was surrounded by family and friends as she celebrated her 60th birthday earlier this month. The former supermodel, who looked chic at a recent charity gala in New York City, chose a relaxed by elegant look for the casual backyard party to mark her latest trip around the sun in photos posted on Tuesday. The runway veteran donned a black and gray flannel shirt over a vintage Blue Oyster Cult T-shirt with a long denim skirt for the gathering. She later added a beige jacket as the sun went down and the temperatures became cooler. She pulled her dark locks back into a bun and wore natural looking makeup. The ___ accessorized with a thick gold necklace and large sunglasses in the late afternoon sun. The table was beautifully spread with finger foods that included charcuterie and crudité, with various dips and cheeses. Pink, purple and yellow tulips decorated the buffet table, while gorgeous bouquets of flowers were placed around her home. This comes 35 years after she stated in a Vogue interview in 1990, 'We don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day.' The Ready to Wear beauty blew out the candle of a very small chocolate cake with a gold '60' placed on top. One friend gave Evangelista a bottle of wine aptly named La Linda. Modest party favors included lollipops with a black and white photo of Evangelista at the height of her career and mini chocolate bars, featuring a photo of the model and her son, Augustin (Augie) 18, whom she shares with ex, François-Henri Pinault, who is now married to Salma Hayek. 'Thanks to everyone who made 60 so special. I love you all,' the Canadian-American model wrote next to the photos shared on social media Monday. Well wishes came in from all around the world for the international beauty. 'Happiest Birthday beauty❤️❤️❤️love you, 'wrote fellow model and actress Amber Valletta. 'Happiest of Birthdays! ❤️' seconded Iman. 'Happy Birthday, Goddess!! ♥️' exclaimed actress Gwendolyn Christie. Julianne Moore, Selma Blair and Nancy Sinatra also sent their best wishes. Although she seemed very comfortable posing for pictures with friends at her party, the former cover model has said it is difficult for her to look in the mirror following the trauma of having a bad reaction to a series of Cool Sculpting procedures designed to be a non-invasive option to liposuction. Instead of losing the fat, she developed Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, a rare side effect in which the targeted fat cells grew larger rather than smaller. Evangelista said she it left her 'permanently deformed' and 'brutally disfigured' in an emotional social media post in 2021. She Cool Sculpting for $50 million in damages, alleging that she was unable to work. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar in April, Evangelista said she looked forward to growing older. 'I don't care how I age. I just want to age,' she stated. 'It doesn't have to be gracefully. I really, really, really don't want to die. I have still so much to do. I'm finally getting comfortable with myself and with everything, and now I want to enjoy it.' 'I'm alive. I'm alive. I'm alive,' she said, 'and I'm going to do what I have to do. I'm going to fight because I don't want it any other way. I'm not done.'
