Jennifer Garner and John Miller Are in a ‘Good Place' Following ‘Rough Period' Involving Ben Affleck

Not something you see every day! On June 21, Jennifer Garner and her longtime boyfriend John Miller put on the PDA after the actress completed a Save the Children run in Santa Monica, Calif. The athletic feat was the final leg in the 53-year-old's 67-day challenge, during which she ran a mile a day to support #67Strong4Kids to help combat world childhood hunger. 'Just $67 can help bring a child back from the brink of starvation,' the mom of three explained to fans on Instagram. While John — the CEO of burger chain CaliBurger — was no doubt impressed by his love's achievement, the public smooch comes in the wake of a set of March photos showing the actress and her ex-husband Ben Affleck looking very cozy at their son's paintball birthday party. 'Jen and John had a rough period earlier this year, everyone knows that, but they're in a very good place now and those bumps in the road are well behind them,' a source tells Star. 'The biggest issue was how much time Jen was spending with Ben, it wasn't easy for John because he felt second place.' The source adds that Jen, who has been dating John on and off since 2018, has made their relationship a priority. 'He's at her place several nights a week now, which is a big change,' reveals the source. 'It's as though they are back in the honeymoon stage of the romance!' Solve the daily Crossword

Jennifer Garner Completes 'Emotional' Final Mile in 67-Day Running Commitment for Save the Children (Exclusive)

Jennifer Garner completed the 67th and final day of her challenge to run one mile a day and raise money for the charity Save the Children on Sunday, June 22 "It just feels like, 'Wow, that's so many more people thinking about kids on the other side of the world and so many more,' " she tells PEOPLE of the encouragement she has received Garner has been working with Save the Children as an artists ambassador for over a decadeAfter 67 days, Jennifer Garner has finished running one mile a day to help raise money for Save the Children. PEOPLE caught up with the actress in Santa Monica, California, on Sunday, June 22, as she completed the final stretch of her commitment to running one mile each day. Peloton instructor Becs Gentry and hundreds of fans and runners were in attendance to support the charity's efforts to raise money for ready-to-use therapeutic food for children in danger of going hungry around the world. "I'm feeling emotional and just really grateful — grateful to people for seeing what I was doing and either joining in or cheering me on," Garner, 53, tells PEOPLE of her efforts over the last two months to raise money and awareness for Save the Children's#67Strong4Kids campaign through running. "I was in the airport a couple of weeks ago and somebody was, like, 'Good luck on your 67.' " "I hear it all the time and it just warms my heart. It just feels like, 'Wow, that's so many more people thinking about kids on the other side of the world and so many more,' " she adds. "It just feels like a nice intention to be out there." Garner set her goal to walk or run one mile a day for 67 days straight shortly after celebrating her 53rd birthday in April, explaining at the time that she's "been feeling helpless about the world hunger crisis" that affects millions of children globally. The 13 Going on 30 actress has been working with Save the Children as an artist ambassador for more than a decade — and she is the first to admit running is not her favorite activity. "I'm not a natural runner," Garner tells PEOPLE. "I seriously did not know Becs before other than I'm a fan of hers and I run along to her on Peloton. And especially when I've been training for anything action, I really use her workouts a lot, and so they've been really helpful to me." As Garner explains, she invited Peloton instructor Gentry to join her on the 67-day running challenge and found the decision to run every day "was a small promise that I could keep to myself every day, but that would be meaningful for me." "I get that running a mile a day isn't that big of a deal; people do a lot more," she says. "A lot of people run a lot more than that and get up early and do all kinds of things. But I wanted something that was going to mean something to me, and this just felt like something I could attempt." is now available in the Apple App Store! Garner cited federal-government funding cuts to humanitarian programs like USAID as a major reason for her decision to take the time to run, donate money and encourage others to do the same. "It was honestly keeping me up at night. And it's one of those things I know I can't really save," she says of worldwide hunger. "I know I don't think I'm God. I don't think I can solve this problem of climate and inequity and conflict, and I don't at all." Adds Garner, "But for myself, I needed to feel like I was doing something."
