Palestine Competes at Miss Universe for First Time Ever

Rabat – For the first time ever, Palestine will be represented at the Miss Universe pageant. Nadeen Ayoub, a former Miss Earth finalist, has been confirmed as the country's inaugural contestant at this year's 74th Miss Universe, set to take place on November 21 in Pak Kret, Thailand. Ayoub was crowned Miss Palestine in 2022. She made history by becoming the first Palestinian to compete at Miss Earth, finishing among the top five finalists. Born and raised between Palestine, the US, and Canada, she holds degrees in literature and psychology and is a certified wellness and nutrition coach, according to the New Arab. She is also an activist. Through the Sayidat Falasteen initiative, she promotes the voices and businesses of Palestinian women. In addition, she founded the Olive Green Academy that teaches environmental advocacy and digital media skills to help women launch sustainable enterprises and become climate ambassadors. 'I am proud to walk this path, especially in this time, when we all need to be a voice for Palestine,' she told The National. 'As Palestine endures heartbreak, especially in Gaza. I carry the voice of a people who refuse to be silenced. We are more than our suffering, we are resilience, hope and the heartbeat of a homeland that lives on through us,' Ayoub added. Reactions on social media has been both enthusiastic and heartfelt. Many say Ayoub's participation carries deep meaning beyond the pageant itself. At a time when Palestinians are enduring immense hardship under Israeli genocidal war, her presence on the Miss Universe stage is being seen as a powerful reminder that Palestinians exist, that they are real, and that their voices and identities cannot be erased. Supporters stress that this moment is more about visibility, dignity, and asserting the humanity of a people too often defined only by war and suffering. Tags: Miss UniversePalestine

Miss Universe Philippines 2025: Ahtisa Manalo crowned, aims for global title next

Move over, world—Quezon Province just served you a queen. Ahtisa Manalo is officially your Miss Universe Philippines 2025, and she didn't just win—she owned that stage. Beating out 65 fierce contenders at the Mall of Asia Arena on May 2, the seasoned stunner is now set to bring her A-game to the global stage in Thailand this November for the 74th Miss Universe pageant. And guess what? This isn't her first rodeo. Ahtisa's been stacking crowns and receipts for years. She was first runner-up at Miss International 2018, placed second runner-up in last year's MUPH, and landed a Top 10 finish at Miss Cosmo. Basically, she's been quietly collecting trophies like it's a hobby. Oh—and in a wild twist? She's taking over the crown from another Manalo (Chelsea), who just casually made history last year as the first-ever Miss Universe Asia. No pressure, Ahtisa. Here's how the MUPH 2025 leaderboard shook out: Top 6: • Ahtisa Manalo (Quezon Province) – Our reigning queen • Winwyn Marquez (Muntinlupa) – Runner-up royalty • Yllana Aduana (Siniloan, Laguna) – Second runner-up, still slaying • Chelsea Fernandez (Sultan Kudarat) – Miss Cosmo PH • Katrina Llegado (Taguig) – Miss Supranational PH • Gabriella Carballo (Cebu City) – Miss Eco International PH And yes, the rest of the Top 12 and Top 24 brought the heat—but Ahtisa? She lit the whole arena on fire. With four Miss Universe titles already under our belt (hello, Catriona, Pia, Margie, and Gloria!), the Philippines isn't just showing up—we're a pageant powerhouse. And with Ahtisa leading the charge, Thailand better roll out the red carpet and maybe a crown or two.

Miss Universe Philippines 2025: What to expect and top contenders for crown

Dubai: Beauty pageant watchers, brace yourselves— Miss Universe Philippines 2025 is just days away, and soon a new queen will be crowned, world peace speeches and all, as Chelsea Manalo prepares to pass on her glittering title. The grand finale is set to take place on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 6 p.m., inside the iconic SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines. This year, 66 fierce and fabulous contenders will glide down the ramp in gorgeous gowns for the coveted crown. The pageant kicked off with 69 hopefuls, but Cabanatuan City, Cebu Province, and Zamboanga City bowed out for reasons still under wraps. With fans passionately backing their faves and social media buzzing with predictions, the competition is hotter than ever. The ceremony will be livestreamed on Empire Philippines' YouTube channel, ensuring fans from around the world won't miss a moment. Turning up the glam factor, Miss Universe 2024 Victoria Kjær Theilvig will be gracing the coronation night, flanked by her dazzling continental court—Nigeria's Chidimma Adetshina (Africa & Oceania), Peru's Tatiana Calmell (Americas), Finland's Matilda Wirtavouri (Europe & Middle East), and Asia's own Chelsea Manalo, who's set to hand over the crown in the night's most anticipated sparkle-filled moment. Hosting duties will be in capable hands, with Gabbi Garcia and Xian Lim leading the evening's main program. Tim Yap and Erika Kristensen-Lee will bring viewers exclusive behind-the-scenes moments from backstage. And adding a dose of star power to the night are performers James Reid and Marlo Mortel, both set to deliver musical numbers worthy of the occasion. Meanwhile, online voting has been extended until May 2, giving supporters one last chance to push their favorite candidates forward. The mechanics are simple but impactful: the top three vote-getters will enter the semifinals; the top two from that round will move on to the next stage; and the candidate with the highest number of votes will be granted a direct spot in the final round.
