ABC Holds Steady With Fall 2025 Schedule Led by ‘High Potential,' ‘911' Doubleheader

The schedule ABC is rolling out for the start of the 2025-26 season looks very similar to the one it had in 2024-25. The network has made a couple of moves — 911 spinoff 911: Nashville joins the Thursday lineup, and Shark Tank is going from Friday to Wednesday nights — but ABC has opted for a mostly stable lineup. 911: Nashville is the only new series on the fall slate. ABC has all five of the top entertainment series this season among adults 18-49 (High Potential, Abbott Elementary, The Rookie, 911 and Shifting Gears), based on Nielsen's cross-platform ratings. 'We have been successfully launching shows and returning shows to the schedule, so we don't need to make a lot of moves,' Erwich said. 'We have an ability here to focus on one or two shows and really point the audience toward what's important to us and what we think is worth their time.' ABC will once again simulcast ESPN's Monday Night Football games in the fall, and Tuesdays will feature Dancing With the Stars and season two of the network's breakout hit High Potential. Comedies Shifting Gears and Abbott Elementary will lead off Wednesdays, with season two The Golden Bachelor and Shark Tank completing the night. Celebrity Wheel of Fortune will take over the 8 p.m. Friday spot that Shark Tank has held for the past five-plus seasons. Thursdays will still feature two Ryan Murphy-produced shows to start the night, with 911 leading into 911: Nashville. The latter takes over the 9 o'clock hour from Doctor Odyssey, whose future is still up in the air. Grey's Anatomy remains at 10 p.m. Dramas Will Trent and The Rookie and unscripted shows American Idol and Celebrity Jeopardy! are on deck for midseason. The Bachelor, which has gone through behind-the-scenes turmoil this year, is not yet on the schedule. ABC's schedule for the fall is below; all times are ET. ‘Dancing With the Stars' Renewed for Season 34, Reveals First Contestant

Dancing With the Stars will, unsurprisingly, hit the floor once again in the 2025-26 TV season. Following a strong run last fall, ABC has renewed the long-running competition show for a 34th season. DWTS has also named its first castmember for the coming season: conservationist and TV host Robert Irwin. The rest of the celebrity cast and their professional partners will be announced closer to the season premiere. Irwin follows his older sister, Bindi, to the Dancing With the Stars stage. Bindi Irwin and partner Derek Hough won the competition in the show's 21st season in 2015. Dancing With the Stars is coming off a strong showing for its 33rd season. The show ranked first among all network entertainment series among adults 18-49 in the fall, averaging a 0.86 rating after a week of viewing (not including streaming). It also drew 5.86 million total viewers, even with its 2023 performance, and the season finale (7.95 million viewers, 1.55 rating in adults 18-49) brought in the show's biggest audience in more than three years. DWTS is the first of ABC's unscripted stalwarts to earn an official renewal for the 2025-26 season, though it was followed closely by The Golden Bachelor on Tuesday (Shark Tank is conducting casting calls for its 17th edition but hasn't formally been picked up). The network has also picked up most of its scripted series for next season, though first-year show Doctor Odyssey remains in limbo.
