ABC Holds Steady With Fall 2025 Schedule Led by ‘High Potential,' ‘911' Doubleheader
The schedule ABC is rolling out for the start of the 2025-26 season looks very similar to the one it had in 2024-25.
The network has made a couple of moves — 911 spinoff 911: Nashville joins the Thursday lineup, and Shark Tank is going from Friday to Wednesday nights — but ABC has opted for a mostly stable lineup. 911: Nashville is the only new series on the fall slate.

That stability 'is both a strategy and also a byproduct of our success,' Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview Tuesday morning. ABC has all five of the top entertainment series this season among adults 18-49 (High Potential, Abbott Elementary, The Rookie, 911 and Shifting Gears), based on Nielsen's cross-platform ratings.
'We have been successfully launching shows and returning shows to the schedule, so we don't need to make a lot of moves,' Erwich said. 'We have an ability here to focus on one or two shows and really point the audience toward what's important to us and what we think is worth their time.'
ABC will once again simulcast ESPN's Monday Night Football games in the fall, and Tuesdays will feature Dancing With the Stars and season two of the network's breakout hit High Potential.
Comedies Shifting Gears and Abbott Elementary will lead off Wednesdays, with season two The Golden Bachelor and Shark Tank completing the night. Celebrity Wheel of Fortune will take over the 8 p.m. Friday spot that Shark Tank has held for the past five-plus seasons.
Thursdays will still feature two Ryan Murphy-produced shows to start the night, with 911 leading into 911: Nashville. The latter takes over the 9 o'clock hour from Doctor Odyssey, whose future is still up in the air. Grey's Anatomy remains at 10 p.m.
Dramas Will Trent and The Rookie and unscripted shows American Idol and Celebrity Jeopardy! are on deck for midseason. The Bachelor, which has gone through behind-the-scenes turmoil this year, is not yet on the schedule.

'High Potential' season 2: Everything we know so far
"High Potential" is officially coming back for season 2, and the next chapter in Morgan Gillory's unconventional crime-solving journey is already in the works. Production on the new season began in May 2025, and ABC has confirmed that the show is set to return this fall as part of its primetime lineup. The police procedural centers on Morgan (played by Kaitlin Olson), a single mother of three whose job cleaning the LAPD offices takes a sharp turn after her remarkable intellect earns her a spot consulting with the Major Crimes division. "High Potential's" mix of procedural drama and comedic quirkiness helped it break through and make it one of ABC's best freshman series in years. It averaged 11.5 million viewers across the network and streaming platforms like Hulu. Now, with season 2 on the horizon, fans can expect the story to pick up right where things left off. "I love a good serialized villain," he told The Wrap. Season 1 ended with a couple of big cliffhangers, including the reveal that Morgan's ex-husband, Roman, is definitely alive. With that in mind, Harthan doesn't want to leave audiences hanging too long. The plan for season 2 is to get into that mystery right away, while also weaving in an entirely new threat: a serial killer who seems to have taken an interest in Morgan. That includes diving deeper into Morgan's backstory, her complicated co-parenting relationship with Ludo and Roman's potential reappearance. "I think the audience has a real appetite to find out what really happened [between them]," Harthan said in an interview with TVLine. 'What was it like the day they sat down and had a conversation about what wasn't working? How did they decide how they should co-parent? What caused that? So now it's our job to come up with a story." Giving the second season additional episodes to breathe can go a long way toward establishing those storylines and much more, and it's something that even star Katilyn Olson is "excited" about, in addition to the ability to "explore the relationships between characters more." "A first season, you really have to give the main character most of the heavy lifting, because that's the person that you're interested in," she told EW. "I know that people are excited to dig into all of our other wonderful actors and their characters' background, so I think that that'll be really fun to do."

The death of 'grassroots' live and electronic music venues in Britain will be the focus of a new review to be conducted by a committee of the U.K. parliament's House of Commons, unveiled at SXSW London on Wednesday. The review was announced by Culture, Media and Sport Committee chair Caroline Dinenage at the inaugural London edition of the popular festival. The goals are supporting 'a thriving grassroots music scene and building a sustainable talent pipeline that ensures the U.K. music industry remains one of the U.K.'s global success stories.' 'Encompassing all aspects of live and electronic music, the review will be chaired by Lord Brennan of Canton, … with the aim of bringing music lovers together to discuss ideas and policies to protect the industry and ensure it works in the best interests of fans,' the committee said in a statement. The previous report 'amplified concerns by venue operators, touring artists and independent promoters regarding the financial precarity of the grassroots music sector, with venues shutting at the rate of two a week.' The review will consider 'the music fan experience, from the provision of live and electronic music through to considerations of safety, examine the sustainability of venues, and explore the barriers to touring faced by emerging artists,' the committee highlighted. 'It will also look at the effectiveness of existing policies and how different levels of government support live music.' Dinenage, a member of parliament for the Conservative Party, argued that the governing Labour Party needed to do more to support grassroots music. 'Despite some headway being made on an industry-led levy to support grassroots music, venues are still shutting their doors at an alarming rate, while the government continues to stick its fingers in its ears when it comes to calls for a fan-led review,' she said. 'It's time to put the power in the hands of those who truly understand and love live and electronic music – the fans, artists, DJs and festival goers, as well as those who work behind the scenes.' The previous committee report found that of the 148 grassroots music venues lost in 2023, approximately 22 percent closed due to operational issues, such as the revocation of premises licences or unachievable license renewal terms. Around 12 percent shut down due to eviction or redevelopment. 'Small music venues and nightclubs are already under immense pressure, and the current planning system is only adding to their burden,' said Dinenage. 'Requiring local authorities to properly consider existing venues when approving new developments would be a game-changer. It would help protect the live music ecosystem and give these vital cultural spaces a real chance to survive and thrive.'
