Cali-based Porsche tuner Gunther Werks has just unveiled this shiny new carbon fibre aero suit, and it adds more presence to a car that isn't really lacking any. You'll need £46k for all eight pieces, including a front lip sporting aggressive fins, side skirts, plus a rear diffuser and redesigned wing combo. Wire an extra £12k on top, and Gunther Werks will add lightweight, forged magnesium alloys from Vorsteiner. The carbon used is also said to be 30 per cent stronger than the traditional stuff, since it's bonded with Autoclave technology. It's a process whereby the raw material is first cured within a temperature and pressure-controlled chamber, increasing stiffness and durability. No more performance on offer, but again, the 911 Turbo S isn't really lacking any. The 3.7-litre flat-six kicks out 642bhp, gets to 62mph in under three seconds and hits its vmax at 205mph. It's the first product to be released by Gunther Werks' new sub-brand, 'GW9', which will focus primarily on suiting and booting modern 911s. Expect to see more kits like this in due course. Watch: $240,000 Porsche 911 GT3 RS destroyed after burnout stunt ends in disaster

The front left suspension and wheel appeared to have taken a bad hit, with the front bumper and fender clearly damaged ( A recent Florida accident involving a Porsche 911 GT3 RS has raised new concerns regarding the dangers of abusing high-performance vehicles. The accident, which was caught on video, underscores the need for heightened driver vigilance when operating powerful sports cars on public roads. The accident happened on a public road during an attempt at a burnout. The driver, operating a red-wheeled grey Porsche 911 GT3 RS, appeared to have the car under control when the vehicle accelerated into an S-turn. Once the vehicle entered the second turn, however, the car lost traction. The rear of the car swung out — a hallmark characteristic of 911s under aggressive driving. The driver overcorrected, sending the car off course. In spite of indications that steering input had decreased, the car continued to maintain throttle, ultimately mounting a curb and hitting a tree. Damage and Immediate Aftermath The collision resulted in the deployment of the car's airbags. The front left suspension and wheel appeared to have taken a bad hit, with the front bumper and fender clearly damaged. The remainder of the car, including the hood, appeared relatively intact on the exterior. There were no initial reports of severe injury to the driver. Still, there are fears about potential structural damage to the frame of the car, which may complicate repairs. Safety Considerations The Porsche 911 GT3 RS, costing over $240,000, is associated with being a high performance and driver-involved machine. The accident highlights how quickly things can go wrong if a driver underestimates the power or dynamics of the car. Though performance vehicles still deliver increased speed and accuracy, such accidents underscore the importance of defensive driving. Porsche Teases 2025 911 Heritage Edition Ahead of Official Unveiling

Read the full story on Modern Car Collector Porsche has confirmed it will unveil a new special-edition 911 in a matter of hours, teasing fans with a series of photos and details that hint at a blend of retro flair and modern performance. The upcoming 2025 Porsche 911 Heritage Edition is expected to be based on the updated 992.2 generation and could arrive in either convertible or Targa body styles. The first images released by the automaker showcase a dark-colored exterior accented by metallic bonnet stripes, a nod to classic Porsche racing liveries. Inside, the Heritage Edition offers an equally nostalgic touch. Photos reveal a cabin adorned in high-end leather with green checkered upholstery—reminiscent of interior options from early-era 911s. The vintage styling cues are paired with state-of-the-art technology, keeping in line with Porsche's evolving identity. Though Porsche has yet to confirm full technical specifications, sources close to the brand suggest the Heritage Edition could be built around the new Carrera GTS platform and feature the recently introduced T-Hybrid powertrain. That setup combines a 3.6-liter flat-six with an electrically assisted turbocharger and a traction motor integrated into the eight-speed PDK transmission. The T-Hybrid system reportedly produces 534 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque, allowing for improved responsiveness and fuel efficiency while retaining the distinctive driving dynamics of the 911. Porsche has announced production will be strictly limited to 1,250 units worldwide, making this an exclusive addition for collectors and enthusiasts. With order books now open, interest is already surging as buyers line up for a piece of Porsche history. The full reveal of the 2025 911 Heritage Edition is expected later today via Porsche's official channels. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter

Four Men Charged For $1 Million Porsche 911 Heist

Read the full story on The Auto Wire It was a simple yet seemingly effective plan as four men cut a hole in the drywall of a storage unit, making off with four Porsche 911 models valued at a total of $1 million. However, the men were all caught and the cars were recovered just a few hours later, showing that the thieves' plan wasn't all that to police documents obtained by KFOX14, the stolen rides were a 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo, 2014 Porsche 911, 2024 Porsche 911, and 1971 Porsche 911. The cars weren't taken far; all four Porsches were recovered within a couple of miles of the storage unit within six hours of the theft. From what one of the talkative suspects told El Paso Police detectives, the four men planned to drive the Porsches across the Mexican border and sell them to an unnamed party. However, that same guy who was all smiles in his mugshot also told police he wanted to keep one of the 911s as his personal car. What a genius. That same guy, along with another suspect were caught just a few hours after the theft sitting in the Porsche 911 Turbo outside a Family Dollar store. Gee, that doesn't look suspicious at all, taking a vehicle worth six digits to somewhere frequented by Kia and Hyundai owners. Police said they found two of the cars parked in alleys. We don't know where the fourth one was located. Considering how quickly they were discovered, it makes us wonder if the owner didn't have GPS trackers on the Porsches hidden where these criminal geniuses couldn't find them. This story is a great reminder that if you have any cars sitting in a storage facility, you need to have trackers and other security measures just in case. Six-Pack of Porsche 911s Is up for Auction

Here are six cars up for auction, complete with their own transport trailer. Most of the cars are some variant of GT3, and none have more than 31 miles on their odometer. Maybe grab five friends and hit up the Nürburgring? Quick, what comes from Germany in six-packs? If you said 'beer' then good guess, but in this case RM Sotheby's is serving up a half-dozen 911s, each of them in as-new condition. Even better, the six cars come with their own Rolfo Aguria transport trailer, towed by a MAN tractor truck. It's like a full size Hot Wheels set, just needing you to call up five friends and supply your own track. All six 911s are of the 991.2 generation of GT3, with one notable exception—more on that in a bit. You can roll up to the racetrack and choose between a red GT3 with ceramic brakes and no infotainment on board for maximum lightness, or pick the GT3 RS with full Weissach and Clubsport packages, including an extended-range fuel tank (24 gallon) and an onboard fire extinguisher just in case. Or you could go for one of the two racing-spec machines, one of them a GT3 Cup that's still in its protective delivery film and with just 20 miles on the odometer. The other, a GT3 R, is eligible to be raced in events like the Nürburgring 24 Hours. Both these cars haven't turned a wheel in anger, something that hopefully the next owner will jump on. Rounding things out are a wingless GT3 Touring, and the sole 991.1 example, an extremely rare 911 R. This has carbon-ceramic brakes and bucket seats with white-and-black-checked Pepita inserts (sometimes mistakenly referred to as houndstooth). Like the racers, it also has fewer than 30 miles on the odometer. All together, these cars have covered less than 150 miles in total. The 911 R alone is worth more than half a million dollars, so to be able to snap it up as part of a half-dozen 911s will be a bit of a win. RM Sotheby's is selling them as part of its Sealed Drop program, which means it's taking online bids between April 28 and 30. Apart from the 911 R, where arguably delivery mileage might add to its value to a collector, whoever lands the winning bid for this Porsche six-pack should get these cars out on the road or track and get them moving. Or you could just try them all out and then keep the one that turns out to be your favorite. Are low-mileage 911s cheaper by the (half) dozen? We'll find out when the hammer drops.
