Motorcyclist dies in Haywards Heath crash
A man in his 20s has died in a motorcycle crash in Haywards Heath, according to Sussex Police. The force said the single-vehicle crash happened on A272 Rocky Lane, near the junction with Cedar Avenue, at around 22:20 BST on Friday. Emergency services attended and gave "immediate life-saving action" but the man died at the scene, it said. The man's family has been informed, police confirmed. Rockey Lane, from Virginia Drive to Bolnore village roundabout, has reopened after it was closed while officers investigated the incident. Sussex Police urged anyone who may have seen the motorcycle being ridden before the crash or has footage of what happened to get in contact.

'Slippery road' concerns sent to government after crash death
The government must respond to a coroner's concerns about road resurfacing after a motorcyclist died in a crash with a lorry. Paul Ransom, 25, died on a "very slippery" A272, near Langrish, Hampshire, on 24 May 2023, about six hours after it was resurfaced, the county's assistant coroner Henry Charles conditions were excellent and Mr Charles said the road's surface "caused or at least substantially contributed to the collision".Mr Ransom, whose family said was "kind, loyal and always funny", married his wife Sophie in October 2022 and they were expecting their first child when he died.
