Royal Jordanian Airlines has officially taken delivery of its first Airbus A320neo aircraft, marking a major step forward in the airline's ambitious fleet modernization strategy. The aircraft, leased from global aviation lessor Avolon, is the first of 20 A320neo Family jets set to join the carrier's fleet in the coming years. All-Economy Layout for Regional Efficiency The newly delivered A320neo is outfitted with a 180-seat, all-economy configuration, tailored for maximum passenger comfort and operational efficiency on Royal Jordanian's regional routes. Future aircraft will include diverse cabin layouts ranging from all-economy to premium cabins, with some A321neo models featuring lie-flat business class seating to serve long-haul markets. Strengthening Strategic Partnerships This delivery underscores the long-standing relationship between Royal Jordanian and Airbus, and aligns with the airline's commitment to sustainable growth. The A320neo is known for its cutting-edge fuel efficiency and reduced CO₂ emissions, helping Royal Jordanian meet its environmental goals while elevating the passenger experience. Enhanced Passenger Comfort with Airbus Airspace Passengers aboard the A320neo will benefit from Airbus' signature Airspace cabin, which features full-spectrum LED lighting and larger XL overhead bins for improved convenience and comfort during travel. The A320neo fleet will enable Royal Jordanian to operate seamlessly across its core markets in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, offering unmatched flexibility from short-haul hops to longer premium routes. Vietjet, Vietnam's largest private airline, has placed a new order with Airbus for 20 A330-900 aircraft to support strategic expansion over the next decade. It is worth around £5.5bn at list prices. This long-term order will support Vietjet's ongoing international network expansion, enabling the airline to increase flights on high capacity routes across the Asia-Pacific region, as well as to introduce new future long haul services to Europe. Wings for the planes will be made at Airbus Broughton. Vietjet Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao said: 'Modern Airbus aircraft, with the latest levels of efficiency and lower fuel consumption, have accompanied Vietjet's growth and will continue to support our global flight network expansion. Vietjet remains dedicated to delivering greater connectivity and sustainable air travel for millions of passengers and around the world.' The new contract with Vietjet doubles its firm orders for the A330neo to 40 aircraft. In addition, the carrier has 96 A320neo Family single aisle aircraft on order. Vietjet currently operates an all-Airbus fleet comprising 115 single aisle A320 Family aircraft and seven A330-300s. Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, EVP Sales Commercial Aircraft at Airbus said: 'Vietjet has established itself as one of the fastest-growing airlines in the world, bringing low fares with warm Vietnamese hospitality. Jackson Square Aviation orders 50 A320neo family aircraft

PARIS, March 12 (Reuters) - U.S. aircraft leasing firm Jackson Square Aviation has placed its first direct order with Airbus ( opens new tab for 50 A320neo Family aircraft, it said in a statement on Wednesday. The deal is the lessor's first direct order with Airbus, making it a new costumer of the European group. Such a deal would be worth around $2.7 billion after typical industry discounts, according to delivery price estimates from UK consultancy Cirium Ascend.
