Uttar Pradesh to set up 2,700 smart classrooms, 1,780 already operational
The Uttar Pradesh government is giving a major push to digital education in urban areas by setting up thousands of smart classrooms in government schools. As part of this effort, the Urban Development Department is developing over 2,700 technology-enabled classrooms aimed at improving learning experiences and access for students, especially those from low-income of now, about 1,780 of these classrooms have already been completed and are in department said this initiative is helping students from economically weaker backgrounds gain access to modern, tech-based education, leading to a steady rise in school enrolments.
'This effort has led to a noticeable improvement in student attendance and enrolment in government schools in urban areas,' said Amrit Abhijat, Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department. 'We are taking urban education to a new dimension. These smart classrooms are not just connecting students with technology but also preparing them for the future.'The classrooms are being developed under various schemes. Of the total, 1,183 smart classrooms are being set up under the Smart City Mission with a sanctioned budget of Rs 160.83 of these, 1,088 classrooms are already INITIATIVE, ABHYUDAYA COMPOSITE SCHOOL SCHEME TO TRANSFORM THE LEARNINGAnother 190 smart classrooms have been built under the Kayakalp initiative with an investment of Rs 57.66 crore.
