Celtic news latest as Moussa Soumano 'monitored' and Dion Dublin reveals special keepsake
Celtic have been namechecked as one of a number of clubs keeping tabs on AC Ajaccio winger Moussa Soumano. The 19-year-old - under contract until 2026 - is a regular for the Ligue 2 outfit and has plenty interest, reports Africafoot. They name Atalanta, Leicester City, Leeds United and the Hoops alongside Brentford as keen parties. The report states the EPL outfit have made an offer of around €3 million as they bid to win the race for his signature. Soumano has scored four goals and provided two assists in 27 appearances for his club side this campaign to date. They sit mid-table in the French second-tier. Meanwhile, Liam Scales has opened up on his battle with Auston Trusty for the starting left-centre back role at Celtic. Brendan Rodgers is a big fan of the Republic of Ireland defender and he's had the nod in recent weeks at the heart of the Hoops' backline alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers. Speaking about the competition for places, he told Celtic TV : "I played with Auston at the start of the season, he's brilliant, and I enjoyed playing alongside him. "He's a good player and it's always going to be the case here that whoever comes in, there will always be strong competition because we do have four or five good players for each position. "It's a positive thing because it keeps everyone at the top of their game, and you can't afford to get slack because you know you won't play if you do." Asked how he remained focused during his spell on the sidelines through injury, he added: "It was tough. I had to go for an operation and everything so I knew I'd be out for a good few weeks. "But the physios were brilliant and it actually recovered probably quicker than we thought it would. "It's great to be back in. I just got myself fit and ready and thankfully, I got the chance to come back in last week. "It's where everyone wants to be. Everyone wants to be starting games and the competition is huge as well. "It's good to be in and I know I need to stay on top of my game to stay in and that's obviously the plan between now and the end of the season." Elsewhere, Dion Dublin has described his old club as a 'machine' as he revealed his special keepsake from his time at Parkhead. The striker believes the Hoops will do the job at Dundee United and get the title party started at Tannadice. He told OLGB: "I think Celtic are a bit of a machine at the moment. I think Brendan Rodgers has just gone there again and said, 'right, unfinished business,' 'let's clean up, shall we?'. 'Brilliant, brilliant football club. 'Loved my time there, albeit very short, but to be able to say 'I have the number 9 shirt for Celtic with my name on the back' is pretty, pretty special and it's all in the frame, all framed up, nice and safe. 'They'll get the win, about 3-0 with all due respect, I think they're just too good'.

Historic, Debt-Laden French Football Team on Sale for Just €1
AC Ajaccio, based in the Mediterranean island of Corsica, plays in the same league as teams owned by the billionaire Arnault family and footballing superstar Kylian Mbappe. Only two years ago, it was playing Leo Messi's Paris Saint-Germain. Now it's for sale for just €1. There's a catch. The club's adviser, Jordan Mathias of CMM Partners, says he'll take offers from buyers who are also able to take on the debt of the club. This is around €8 million.
