Exercise NOMADIC ELEPHANT enabled both sides to share their best practices in tactics, techniques, and procedures for conducting joint operations. The exercise also facilitated the development of interoperability, bonhomie, and camaraderie between the two armies. It further enhanced the level of defence cooperation, augmenting bilateral relations between the two friendly nations.(ANI)

How India's air defence ‘destroys enemy in the sky'

Air Marshal AK Bharti on Monday provided a detailed account of Operation Sindoor during a special press briefing, highlighting how India's air defence forces successfully intercepted and destroyed enemy aircraft in Indian airspace amid heightened cross-border tensions with Pakistan. Describing the Indian air defence system as 'the guardians of our skies,' Bharti explained how the system detected, tracked, monitored and neutralized the threat during Islamabad's recent military offensive. He showed debris from a Pakistani Mirage aircraft that was downed during the engagement. The Indian Army's Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI) released a video showcasing the operation. The footage briefly showed the Indian air defence system in action. The video contained the message: 'With India's air defence system we brought them (Pakistan) to their knees.' While outlining India's strategic position, Bharti said that the conflict is not directed at the Pakistani military but rather at terrorist elements and the infrastructure supporting them. 'India's fight is with terrorists and the infrastructure that supports them, not with the Pakistani military,' he said. However, he criticized the Pakistani military's involvement in the conflict. 'It is petty that the Pakistan army chose to intervene and fight for the terrorists, that prompted our response,' Bharti added. India on May 10 reached a ceasefire understanding with Pakistan to cease military action on land, sea and in the air, foreign secretary Vikram Misri said. This development occurred amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, following India's recent military campaign, Operation Sindoor. The operation was launched in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people, the operation involved precision airstrikes on nine locations identified as terrorist infrastructure, including camps in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Bahawalpur, across Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

'Went For Head Of Snake': Sources On India's Strike On Pak Terror Bases

The Indian government has clarified, both for the world and Pakistan, that it went for the "snake's head and not foot soldiers" this time, demonstrating its new approach to kill terrorists within Pakistan. India launched Operation Sindoor, a counterstrike in response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack on tourists in which 26 people were killed in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, on May 7 against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. The Indian Armed Forces carried out coordinated precision missile strikes on nine terrorist facilities - four in Pakistan (including Bahawalpur and Muridke) and five in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (such as Muzaffarabad and Kotli). OPERATION SINDOOR Indian Army Pulverizes Terrorist Launchpads As a response to Pakistan's misadventures of attempted drone strikes on the night of 08 and 09 May 2025 in multiple cities of Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab, the #Indian Army conducted a coordinated fire assault on… — ADG PI - INDIAN ARMY (@adgpi) May 10, 2025 "The message that has been sent is that no matter where you are in Pakistan, we will hit you. On this occasion, we have gone after the head of the snake and not foot soldiers," a source told NDTV. "It showed our approach of 'ghar me ghus ke marenge (kill them within their home)'," said the source. These facilities were key command centers for Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), responsible for attacks like Pulwama (2019) and Mumbai (2008), respectively. Despite provocation and attacks on civilians by Pakistan, India said it responded with precision and restraint, targeting terror bases and striking military installations only after Pakistan escalated conflict. "We have called their nuclear deterrence bluff. We take the nuclear threat seriously, but it cannot serve as cover for Pakistan to come and do terrorism in our country," the source said. "The new normal is that the Line of Control will not protect you; the international border will not protect you; the nuclear threat will not protect you," the source further added. The strikes extended hundreds of kilometers inside Pakistan, not just Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. India has made it clear, said the source, that neither the LoC nor internal Pakistani geography is off-limits if terror emanates from its soil. "India's response asserted a doctrinal shift toward calibrated deterrence. Operation Sindoor has drawn a red line Pakistan can no longer ignore - that terrorism as state policy will trigger targeted, visible consequences," said the source. Several terrorists were eliminated, including those on India's most wanted list, said the source, adding that the leadership of multiple terror modules has been wiped out in a single night. "India showed the world that it will not wait for permission to defend its people. Terror will be punished - anytime, anywhere. It also showed that terrorists and their masterminds have no place to hide," the source signed off.

Indian Army pulverises terrorist launchpads located close to LoC

New Delhi [India], May 10 (ANI): The Indian Army, during the intervening night of May 8 and May 9, pulverised terror launch pads close to the Line of Control in a coordinated fire assault in response to Pakistan's attempted drone strikes on multiple cities in Jammu-Kashmir and Punjab, the army stated. Taking to X, the Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) stated that the operation was aimed at pulverising and razing these launchpads to cinders, dealing a significant blow to terrorist infrastructure and capabilities. The ADG PI also noted that the assault by the Indian armed forces was also under Operation Sindoor, which was launched in the early hours of Wednesday, during which the armed forces neutralised nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir 'OPERATION SINDOOR. Indian Army Pulverizes Terrorist Launchpads,' the ADGPI announced on X. 'As a response to Pakistan's misadventures of attempted drone strikes on the night of 08 and 09 May 2025 in multiple cities of Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab, the Indian Army conducted a coordinated fire assault on terrorist launchpads, pulverizing & razing them to cinders. The terrorist launchpads, located close to the Line of Control, were a hub for planning and executing terror attacks against Indian civilians and security forces in the past. The Indian Army's swift and decisive action has dealt a significant blow to terrorist infrastructure and capabilities,' the ADGPI added. Earlier, the Indian Army successfully thwarted a Pakistani drone attack in the early hours on Saturday, demonstrating India's robust air defence systems in the wake of Pakistan's blatant escalation along India's western borders. Taking to X, the Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) stated that Pakistan has been continuing to escalate the situation with drone strikes and munitions, noting that at around 5 AM, several 'enemy armed drones' were spotted over Khasa Cantontment in Punjab's Amritsar, which were destroyed by the air defence units. 'OPERATION blatant escalation with drone strikes and other munitions continues along our western borders. In one such incident, today at approximately 5 AM, Multiple enemy armed drones were spotted flying over Khasa Cantt, Amritsar. The hostile drones were instantly engaged and destroyed by our air defence units. Pakistan's blatant attempt to violate India's sovereignty and endanger civilians is unacceptable. Indian Army will thwart enemy designs,' the Army stated. Meanwhile, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Saturday met with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at his residence to brief the Raksha Mantri on the country's ongoing security situation. The meeting came amidst heightened tensions following Pakistan's recent aggression of drone attacks on Indian military and civilian targets earlier today, to which India retaliated with air-launched precision weapons on Pakistani military targets.
