How To Prepare Teams For Their New AI Agent Coworkers

Photo by Alex Kotliarskyi on Unsplash At the end of February, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff made a shocking announcement: he wouldn't be hiring any more software engineers in 2025. Instead, he'd be going all in on Agentforce, the company's agentic AI system designed to handle multi-step processes all on its own. Benioff is a true believer in the power of agentic AI to revolutionize how work gets done. At the World Economic Forum in Davos this year, he also painted a picture of how agents will integrate into the workforce—in sales, for example, human agents will assume new roles as their AI counterparts resolve support inquiries. "We are really moving into a world now of managing humans and agents together," he said. I'm inclined to agree. AI agents are still new, and there are still a lot of kinks to work out before they reach their full potential. Still, effective leaders should be thinking about how their new blended teams will look—and how they can best equip their existing, human workers for this new reality. There is a right way for leaders to begin integrating agents onto teams—and then there is the other way. Klarna CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski has taken the second route, pronouncing that partially automating his human workforce has saved his company millions, and that he is 'of the opinion that AI can already do all of the jobs that we, as humans, do.' This isn't actually true, at least not yet—but it is a great way to alarm your employees, zapping them of their motivation. Instead, leaders should set their teams up for success by helping to identify opportunities for AI-human collaboration. One way to do this is for teams to ensure that agents are working with good data, weeding out wrong or incomplete information and regularly optimizing and providing feedback. Additionally, the more employees actually work with agents, the more they'll understand their abilities—and limitations. For example, Jotform's recently-released AI agent is already being heavily used by our own support team to cut down on routine requests and make their lives easier. I've made it clear that these new automated teammates are not out for their jobs—instead, they're significantly increasing the speed and volume at which we're able to address issues. Another one of Siemiatkowski's divisive sound bites is that AI is so advanced, it's even capable of replacing CEOs like him, arguing that AI reasoning has reached C-suite levels. Don't get me wrong—AI agents are excellent at many things, and can capably complete many tasks from end-to-end all on their own. There's a reason that, according to one survey, 51 percent of organizations are exploring the use of AI agents, with 37 percent actively piloting them. But AI, agentic and otherwise, is not especially creative. It can, when prompted, offer ideas and serve as a useful sounding board. It's also great at generating drafts and outlines, reducing the 'blank page' anxiety that torments so many of us in the early stages of the creative process. But for now at least, AI is not cut out for doing work that involves high levels of empathy, nor is it good at making gut-based decisions where little information is available. For leaders and employees alike, our ability to form relationships, think outside the box and make empathetic decisions is where we shine. Research shows that most employees—83 percent—believe that AI will make uniquely human skills even more crucial, while 76 percent crave more human connection as AI grows. As AI agents enter the workplace, leaders should empower their teams to spend more time flexing their creative muscles. Encourage an environment where employees are free to brainstorm, collaborate, and test-drive ideas—all while using agents to facilitate the process. Say a team is kicking around a new product idea. An AI agent can gather market intelligence from customer service logs, social media, and internal analytics, testing its viability and accomplishing in minutes what would have previously taken days (and far more resources). This increased efficiency, in turn, creates the space for even more collaborative brainstorming, effectively propelling the creative cycle forward. Employees at every level will need to get comfortable delegating routine tasks to AI—and some will be more receptive than others. Slack even published an 'AI persona quiz' to determine how readily people will accept agentic teammates, with results ranging from 'Maximalists,' who are all aboard the AI train; to 'Observers,' who are cautiously watching from the sidelines. A good AI policy accounts for this range of comfort levels. But oddly, data from Slack found that 40 percent of workers said their organization has no AI policy at all; 48 percent reported they would hesitate to tell their managers they were using it for their work. This is the opposite of how it should be. Rather than remaining mum on the subject of AI, leaders should be having proactive conversations about their expectations for its usage, and how they anticipate the adoption of agents to change workflows. Saying nothing not only fails to help your teams unlock the incredible benefits of agentic AI, it also creates the perfect environment for confusion and fear to take hold. AI agents are changing how work gets done, for the better. But the transition will not happen automatically. Adoption will require strong and transparent policies, where teams are not treated as afterthoughts to exciting new technology, but as an essential part of the journey.

AI Localisation Trends: 55% AI Adoption, Hybrid Model to Hit 81% in 2025

The report reveals that AI is rapidly reshaping localisation, with over half of companies already adopting it and 81% planning hybrid AI-human models in the next year. A new survey from Lokalise, which gathered insights from over 500 professionals at medium-sized and large companies across North America and Europe, reveals that more than half (55%) of businesses are already using AI for localising lower-priority content. Additionally, 63% acknowledge that while AI speeds up translations, human oversight remains essential. Key AI localisation use cases cited include website or app content (52%), marketing materials (48%), regulatory documents (48%), and internal documentation (46%). Looking ahead, 81% of organisations said they are likely to adopt hybrid localisation approaches which combine AI and human review within the next year, with 40% of high-maturity companies very likely to do so. Asked about how AI might impact localisation within the next year, 46% said they think AI will run most localisation workflows, and 42% believe AI will handle most translation tasks. The study also uncovers localisation as a critical driver for business success, with 74% of companies saying that localisation accounts for more than 26% of their revenue growth. A further 11% said it accounts for more than half. ALSO READ: Zendesk Launches Flexible Pricing for Customised AI Journeys Aside from significantly boosting revenue growth, customer experience was identified as a key benefit, with 51% of survey respondents stating it improved satisfaction. 47% reported that it strengthened inclusivity and accessibility, and 45% said that it strengthened their brand's global presence. Yet despite recognising the importance of localisation, over two-thirds of organisations report having localisation maturity gaps* with 43% still relying on spreadsheets to manage complex localisation processes, leading to delays, errors and collaboration challenges. 'Our research reveals that having a localisation strategy and the technology to back it up is not a 'nice to have', it is a key driver of revenue and customer satisfaction. The financial gains reported by companies which have mature localisation strategies are so significant that it could make or break an organisation when it scales internationally, said Magnus Slind-Näslund, Chief Technology Officer at Lokalise. 'Surprisingly, despite the ROI businesses know that they can achieve through localisation, there is a clear disconnect between this recognition and the actual implementation of mature localisation processes. Too many organisations are relying on under-resourced and rudimentary tools for delivering local content and functionality.' 'However, this situation may soon change, as the vast majority of respondents said they intend to leverage AI to enhance their localisation efforts.' The report comes at a critical time as organisations face mounting challenges in 2025, including exponential content growth (expected to increase 5 fold in the next three years), cost pressures, higher customer expectations for culturally relevant experiences, and expanding language access regulations. Elon Musk's xAI to raise $20 billion from investors: Report

Elon Musk 's xAI Holdings is allegedly in talks with investors to raise nearly $20 billion in funding. According to a Bloomberg report, the funding would value the company at over $120 billion. For those unaware, xAI acquired X (formerly Twitter) in a deal that valued the microblogging platform at $33 billion, allowing Elon Musk-owned AI firm to share its value with co-investors in the company formerly known as Twitter. As per the report, the amount in the round could be more than $20 billion. The total had not yet been decided, and terms could change, the report added. Last week, the AI company revealed a new update to its Grok chatbot , enabling it to 'see' the world around it. This new feature allows the chatbot to process and interpret visual inputs, marking a significant leap in AI-human interaction. 'Introducing Grok Vision , multilingual audio, and realtime search in Voice Mode. Available now,' said the company. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Don't Miss The Top Packaging Trends Of 2025 Enhance Your Brand With The Latest Insights Packaging Machines | Search Ads Search Now Undo How Grok's vision works The enhanced Grok chatbot uses advanced computer vision technology to analyse images and videos, providing context-aware responses. For instance, users can upload a photo of a product, and Grok can identify it, suggest uses, or even recommend similar items. This capability bridges the gap between text-based AI and real-world applications, making Grok more versatile and intuitive. The vision feature opens up possibilities in e-commerce, education, and healthcare, where visual understanding can enhance user experiences. From diagnosing medical conditions through image analysis to assisting with design projects, Grok's new ability is expected to revolutionise how AI integrates into daily life. With this update, xAI positions itself as a strong competitor in the AI space, challenging established players like OpenAI and Google.

AI startups hiring sees two-fold increase; absorbing talent from Google, Meta, Amazon: Report

Artificial intelligence (AI) startups are hiring at twice the rate of Big Tech , drawing top talent away from giants like Google, Meta, and Amazon, according to Microsoft 's 2025 Work Trend Index. Companies known as 'Frontier Firms' — built around AI-driven intelligence and human-agent teams — are already thriving, with percent of their employees reporting success, compared to 37 percent globally. However, a growing 'Capacity Gap' threatens many organisations, as 80 percent of workers lack the time and energy to meet demands. To bridge this, 82 percent of leaders plan to deploy AI agents and automation within the next 12 to 18 months, fundamentally reshaping operations and workflows. ET had reported on this trend recently, where companies like Zerodha and other startups are increasingly relying on AI agents to build critical parts of their platforms. Founders told us that AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude are now writing 40–80 percent of production-level code, delivering precise, error-free results that drastically boost efficiency. Live Events The global workforce is undergoing a seismic transformation. Driven by the rise of digital labour and AI-human collaboration, businesses are rethinking core strategies to stay competitive. Discover the stories of your interest Economists liken this moment to the industrial revolution, suggesting AI-augmented workplaces will unlock new economic value and redefine major AI firms like OpenAI and Anthropic securing billions in investment and legacy companies like IBM overhauling workflows to integrate AI, Microsoft's message is clear: companies that embrace AI-driven transformation will lead the future — and those that don't risk being left behind. In this new AI-driven era, every employee will need to think like an 'agent boss', someone who manages and collaborates with AI agents to drive productivity, the report says. As agents become an integral part of the workforce, 41 percent of leaders expect their teams to train agents, and 36 percent predict they will be managing agents within the next five years. In fact, 79 percent of leaders believe AI will accelerate their careers, compared to 67 percent of employees who believe so. However, this shift won't stop at the executive level. As AI becomes embedded in every function, leaders are beginning to rethink their workforce composition. While 33 percent are considering reducing headcount, 78 percent are planning to hire for new AI-specific roles. As organisations evolve, AI is expected to empower employees to take on more strategic and complex tasks earlier in their careers, creating new opportunities across all levels of the workforce. Globally, tech leaders like OpenAI's Sam Altman, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, and Anthropic's Dario Amodei have predicted a future where AI generates most of the world's software. In March, Y Combinator's CEO revealed that about 25 percent of its startups are already using AI to write 95 percent or more of their code — underscoring just how rapidly digital labour is becoming central to innovation. Meanwhile, the Indian conversational AI market is booming — valued at $516.8 million in 2024 and projected to soar past $4.9 billion by 2033, according to IMARC Group — signalling strong and rising demand for AI-driven solutions. The areas where some of the use cases are taking off include ecommerce, contact centres, and banking and financial services. The latest edition of the Microsoft report draws on labour and hiring insights from a survey of 31,000 people across 31 countries, combined with trillions of anonymous, aggregated signals from emails, meetings, and chats on Microsoft 365.
