Honor 400 series lands in Malaysia: AI-enhanced cameras, 200MP lens, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
PETALING JAYA, May 23 — After a series of teasers, Honor has finally launched its premium mid-range smartphones, the Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro here in Malaysia, making our market one of the first to get these smartphones. Replacing the Honor 200 series in our market, these devices bring improved performance, camera, display, and a new AI Image to Video feature. More on that later. Honor 400 and 400 Pro Malaysia: Specs and features The Honor 400 is offered with three colour options, namely Desert Gold, Tidal Blue, and Midnight Black. The Honor 400 Pro swaps out Desert Gold for Lunar Grey instead. Durability-wise, the vanilla device is rated at IP66, while the Pro model gets IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance. At the front, the Honor 400 is equipped with a 6.55″ 1.5K (2736×1264) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Its Pro siblings get a slightly larger and crispier 6.7-inch 1.5K (2800×1280) Quad Curved AMOLED panel with the same 120Hz refresh rate. Both displays have the same 5,000 nits peak brightness when displaying HDR content. Powering the Honor 400 is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, while the 400 Pro gets the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Qualcomm's flagship mobile chipset from the previous year. Imaging-wise, both devices come standard with a 200MP f/1.9 main shooter with a 1/1.4' sensor and OIS, along with a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera with OIS. The Honor 400 Pro gets an additional 50MP f/2.4 3x telephoto shooter that comes equipped with a Sony IMX856 sensor. Selfies are handled by a 50MP f/2.0 selfie shooter for both models. Honor 400 Series Brings Flagship AI And Longevity To Mid-Range Phones
Honor 400 Prakhar Khanna Honor 400 and 400 Pro are the latest mid-range phones from the house of Honor. While they don't pack the latest flagship processors, both devices are loaded with AI-powered features and come with a promise of six years of Android OS and security updates. A standout feature on both models is AI Image to Video, powered by Google Cloud's Veo 2 model, which transforms static photos into five-second videos. The 499 Euro Honor 400 features a 6.55-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness for supported HDR content. It's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. On the back, there's a 200MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide sensor with macro support, along with Harcourt Portrait Mode for stylized portraits. The phone packs a 5,300mAh battery with 66W fast charging and no wireless charging support. It is promised to claimed to charge up to 44% within 15 minutes. As for the Honor 400 Pro, it brings a bigger 6.7-inch display and retains the same resolution, refresh rate, and peak brightness. Under the hood, it's powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, alongside 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of storage. The more expesnive Honor phone sports a triple rear camera setup that includes a 200MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The Honor 400 Pro also packs the same 5,300mAh battery but supports 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. Both phones feature a 50MP selfie camera and a range of AI tools: AI Eraser, AI Outpainting, AI Remove Reflection, AI Deepfake Detection and more. The more affordable Honor 400 is rated for IP65 dust and water resistance, while the 400 Pro adds a more comprehensive IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance rating. The Honor 400 5G is available in Desert Gold, Lunar Grey, and Midnight Black, while the Honor 400 Pro comes in Lunar Grey and Midnight Black. Honor 400 appears again on Geekbench, this time with Snapdragon 7 Gen 4
The Honor 400 appeared on Geekbench for the second time this month. The first time, its scorecard listed a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, but the new listing revealed something way more interesting - different core clusters and a new GPU - those of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Honor 400 on Geekbench • Honor 400 specs The Honor 400 will arrive next week and could be one of the first phones with the new Qualcomm platform announced earlier today. According to a leaked screenshot of the About page in Settings, the phone will also have a huge 7,200 mAh battery and a resolution of 2,736 x 1,264 pixels. The image comes from the leakster Digital Chat Station, who claimed the Honor 400 Pro will have the same battery capacity, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and a 6.55" display. Honor 400 Lite The Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro will arrive on May 22 at a special event in London, United Kingdom. They will feature an AI Image to Video feature that lets you generate clips from still images, powered by MagicOS 9 and Android 15.
